let's see...there is "One of Us" by Joan Osbourne; the rest of the songs on that album were amazing and that song was released as a single and ruined her career

"Pretend We're Dead" byt L7, probably the only 'pop' song they sang, not at all representative of their music but of course was released as a single because it was so 'soft'.

"You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morrisette, not at all representative of the rest of her music but released as a single for God knows what reason...

so strange the way the record companies do this...
