30. Bad plan
These big big defeats of gay marriage should be a real signal that the vast majority of people in the US do not like lesbians or gays and what they are about...

I respectfully disagree.

The majority of US voters are not yet educated or enlightened enough to feel comfortable conferring traditional and legal marital rights to same-sex couples.

These things take time. To make a bad analogy, if you "blow your wad" early in a fight like this all you are going to do is piss off your, uh, opponent.

Naive heterosexuals respond best to honest, personal friendship from gays and lesbians. Shoving the entire equal-rights agenda in their faces all at once scares them.

I'm very sorry about this, but people must be patient on this subject.
