The editorial was entitled "What Kind Of Mandate".

I don't have the link, but here's the quote.

"For the good of the nation, Mr. Bush should extend his hand across the electoral chasm. He made a good start Wednesday when he told supprters of Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., that he wanted to earn their trust.

But House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Tex., has other plans. 'We're going to be able to lead this country in the direction we've been dreaming of for years,' Mr. DeLay said Wednesday. ' . . . We're going to put God back into the public square.'"

EDIT

Knowing what we know of DeLay, "putting God back into the public square" does not mean religious freedom. It means state-sponsored Christian fundamentalism, enforced by federal fiat.

And knowing what we do regarding Christian Reconstruction, with which DeLay has been linked for years, it doesn't take too much specialized training to read between the lines here.
