24. This is disturbing
The Pope is one of the few world leaders with the moral authority to stand up to the President of the United States. Pope John Paul was a thorn in the Shrub's side and my personal take on his insistance on attending the Pope's funeral was as much to triumph over the old man's death as it was to curry favor with American Catholics.

Would Bush like a Pope with a world view closer to his own in the Vatican?

Is the Pope Catholic?
