You can't make deals like with Republicans. They won't keep them. Letting Owens Brown & Pryor on the bench for life- after threatening to shut down the Senate- should have taught him that.

Even if they do "investigate"- it'll be nothing but a whitewash. Bottom line is that he's lost every single battle- and usually without even the pretense of a fight. Every single nominee- no matter how extreme or incompetant- every significant piece of legislation no matter how egregious. Hell, he even crossed over and voted with the Republicans on the bankruptcy bill!

Through his lack of leadership and inability to control members of his own party, he's compiled the worst record ever for a minority leader. An "O" fer. Some prize.

Look at what Bob Dole did in 93-95, with 41 senators....

Personally, I had hoped that he might gracefully leave for health reasons. It's got to be embarrassing at this point.
