Remember this is the guy who sent out the RNC memo to GOP congressional members that whether they like it or not, they are "Brand W" republicans (at least until the next GOP pres nomination is settled), and that they needed to back Bush and all his policies rather than criticize them ... because "If bush goes down (in public opinion), we all go down..."

"Brand W Republicans." Always thought we should take Ken's phrase and use it... liberally.

Hasn't been working so well for them. More congressional races have been "upgraded" from CQ from more safe categories to higher risk categories (eg "safe republican" moves to "lean republican"; "lean republican" moves to "Too close to all" (as in TOSS UP))

It is generally my opinion that when Mehlman looks stupid, it because deep down... he really is stupid.
