36. First of all, Bush is a seriously disturbed individual in need of serious therapy

Bush wanted to earn his mother's love. Bush was in competition with his dad for his mother's affection. Iraq gave Bush the opportunity to do the one thing his dad had failed to do: remove Saddam Hussein from power. This is why Bush had such a single minded purpose in pursuing the war. Bush wanted to impress his mother by becoming the conqueror of Iraq.

The reason Bush would never go along with the Iraq Study Group's recommendations is that to do so would have made him look like a fool by his father's cronies.

The reason Bush will keep us in Iraq until we win or are driven out, is because Bush thinks he can win the war by sheer force of will (this is one attribute Bush shares with Hitler!).
