18. That's Gingrich's only card, really, and he'll play it over and over again.

Because the fact is, the very idea of being a "republican" or a "conservative" has been thoroughly trashed. As a movement, it's lying in pieces on the ground, and the stink of it is impossible to ignore.

Oh, sure, he'll try to cast himself as a "true conservative" somehow distinct from the current crop of America-wreckers. But he -- or anyone else -- will have a hard time coming up with a concrete example of what he's accomplished on behalf of our nation, while examples of the poison he has poured into the well abound.

The fact is, Gingrich and his ilk are responsible for so much of what's wrong in America today. So much of the mess can be laid directly at his feet, and at the feet of his ideological litter-mates.

So the task of Democrats and Liberals now is to say so, unequivocally. And then go on to describe the policies we want to put to work for the American people.

We the people, all of us. America is sick and tired of conservative control, conservative lies, conservative manipulation, conservative messes.

You know it, I know it, the vast majority of people we meet in our everyday lives know it. It's up to us to offer a better plan.
