this whole constitutional amendment will backfire on shrub with moderates. While many moderates may be against gay marraige or civil unions, a consitutional amendment makes smirk look mean spirited. It seems harsh, petty and overtly political to seek a constutional amendment to discriminate against a segment of our society who live their lives in every way the same as the rest of us. Save for whom they choose to love.

While one's conscious may tell it that gay marriage is a sin, that same conscious should tell it that a constitutional amendment sanctioning discrimination is just as wrong.
