let's stipulate that Carville called Matalin.

That doesn't answer all the other questions - why was Carville told? He wasn't part of the campaign. Was Carville told to keep it confidential? IF it was confidential, who in the campaign violated that confidentiality by telling Carville? What's the difference between the Bush team finding out in the middle of the night vs. early the next morning? Is the ONLY explanation for the number of provisional ballots changing that they were stolen? Why has not a single person in the Kerry campaign faulted Carville for this so-called betrayal?

You've pieced together a whole narrative based on a few little facts - you're filling in all the blanks in a way to make it as bad as possible for Carville, but you have zero evidence of the facts you're filling in, and in fact, looking at it objectively shows that you're wrong.
