independents and moderate Republicans, whom we need if we are going to win the general election.

Meanwhile, although McCain doesn't do well among a large slice of the Republican base, he does much better than they do among the independents and Democrats than his primary rivals.

I liek both Hillary and Obama, but I prefer Edwards. Unfortunately, he isn't avalable anymore, so I think Obama will give us a better shot in the general election. On the other hand, a ticket with both Hillary and Obama (in any order) would probably be unbeatable.
