18. Well, they likely had enough of their own people still in positions at the DNC
and I doubt very much they would have done anything blatantly obvious, but, working behind the scenes would not be new to them.

I don't know specifically what Douglas Brinkley observed to make his comment in April 2004, but I do know that Terry McAuliffe never used his stewardship of the Dem party to build a strong infrastructure for the 2002 and 2004 election cycles - he only concentrated on DC-centric projects that he poured money into - OUR money in DC projects instead of state by state party building.

I see a big picture view of the Clinton machine over the past decade and just see nothing from their actions and the actions of their loyalists that showed any concern for the overall party.
