At least not right away. I would have been too bitter and too partisan and found myself wanting him to fail. So as much as I can't understand how anyone could not be rooting for Obama's presidency to be a success I know that I would see it a lot differently if McCain had won. But I've been burned before...after 9/11, I gave Bush a chance, and I bought into the spirit of "rally around the commander in chief" for longer than I should have, and I am ashamed of that to this day. It wasn't until the summer of 2002 when I interned in Congress and realized how much the Republicans were screwing things up that I woke up and realized that Bush and the Repukes were using the post-9/11 environment to do all these horrible things and I was falling for it.
