5. I first became aware of the Republicans when I was just a kid

watching the McCarthy hearings on TV.
They were pompous liars then, and have not improved at all, if anything they have become worse since Regan gave then some delusions of grandeur.

They are scum now as they were in the 1950's.

I could never understand why anyone would want to be a Republican.
