11. Even if the Zelaya had sought to remove the term limits policy
(And there was nothing in the referendum that actually called for that, btw), this does NOT equate with seeking to be "president-for-life". In contemporary Latin American politics, the "president-for-life" claim is code for "How dare a left-of-center president actually have enough power to defend the poor and the workers and prevent we, the rich, from being the true rulers of the continent?"
The "president-for-life" accusation is simply the wealthy and the generals complaining because a people's politician actually dares to stand up to them.
