Trivia fans survive 54 hours

STEVENS POINT - Trivia 36: "Keep on Trivia" wrapped up at midnight Sunday, 54 hours, thousands of points and hundreds of pounds of pizzas, snacks and sodas after it began.

Throughout Stevens Point and beyond, banners advertising team names hung in front of homes all weekend. Inside, team members scrambled to answer questions on any topic imaginable, from Joe DiMaggio to Rudolfo the ferret.

First place remained up for grabs as the contest wound down, with the top five teams struggling to one-up each other in the world of sometimes-obscure knowledge.

"Jeopardy!" champion Ken Jennings made an appearance for this year's contest, taking time to pause for autographs and photos but ducking interview requests from local media. A documentary crew also was on hand to film the world's largest trivia contest.

But for Trivia die-hards, the weekend was business as usual. And whether that meant partying during the contest or approaching the game with supreme intensity, most said they just were happy to be playing again.
