From that moment on, the employees really teamed up and got involved. First we recruited our team members. So many employees were interested that we formed two teams. They developed a theme, ?SUPERHEROES BATTLE CANCER,? and announced the team names. Leah?s team, ?THE CYBERFORCE,? included her husband Tate O?Connor, Kay Stephenson, Bill and Maxine Latini, Orin Walker, Stephani and Jeff Miller, Troy Etherton, Wanda Mitchell and Renee Castiglione. Kathie?s team, ?THE MAD MAXXERS,? included her husband Tim Underwood, Alan Nelson, Bill and Christina Lake, Greg Rohm, Kelly Flaminio, Kim Brogle, Ron Larson, Scott Kennon, Mike Stephenson and Vivian Greene. The fund raising was off and running. Members were baking sweets and selling them, writing letters to friends and family, raffling crafts and selling tickets to an all you can eat spaghetti lunch. After months of this frenetic activity, the event was upon us. Plans were made for walking schedules. This is part of the uniqueness of Relay for Life; one person from every team must be on the track from 6:00 p.m. Friday evening until 12:00 noon the next Saturday. While one member was on the track, the rest of the team was having fun, camping out, listening to live music, participating in pie eating contests, sleeping bag races, midnight pajama contests, water cannon battles and lots more. We were ROCKIN?!
