I realize I am disconnecting my emotions when I speak of her impending death and her appearance still allows me to be in denial.
Just the same, I know what is coming. I have never experienced the death of a pet beyond pet turtles.

Of course, I did lose my dad this past April, but I expect that is different than a beloved pet who has always loved you with unconditional love. It is difficult to put into words, but maybe it is due to their defenselessness.

I will not keep her beyond her time, or let her be in severe pain.
Just knowing that they "live on" is very comforting, even if she never comes for a visit. Before coming to DU, and coming to this Group, I never realized animals lived on.
