When our cat Bitsey died, both my husband and I were devastated. We had loved her so. She was my first cat.

One night after dinner, I told my husband about the signs she'd been sending me. My husband is quite psychic himself. He then told me stories of how she'd been contacting him, too. He didn't know how to tell me these stories but when I told him about mine, he told me what he'd experienced. We cried together that night, telling our stories.

In one situation, he was sitting in the home office of a former business associate. The business associate's daughter came into the office. A 13-year old girl who has her own computer in another part of the house, she came into the office and brought up a picture of a cat who looked identical to our Mitzi. The girl said nothing; she just brought up the picture and then left.

Mitzi had a few distinctive markings and other characteristics that made her different. This picture, of which we do not know the origins, was exactly like her. There never was an accounting for why the young girl came into the room and pulled up that particular picture.

Shortly thereafter, my husband was standing by a tree in our front yard. This tree has a U-shape in a branch and Bitsey would often sit there. Sometimes she would tear up the tree like a maniac and make us laugh. Then she would venture down, carefully. We would laugh at that, too: a lot easier to go up than come down. On this occasion, he sensed her sitting in the U and right after that, the branches on the tree began to shake, as if something were tearing up the tree. He knew instantly who that was.

Only a week after her death, the two of us were outside working on gathering leaves. I saw our shadow on the pavement and in the shadow was Bitsey, rubbing against my husband's leg, her big fluffy tail upright in a curl. I didn't see Bitsey herself, just the shadow. It felt as natural as could be; just as if she were there in this dimension.

It is coming up on the third year anniversary of her death, so I guess I am remembering for that reason.

I often think of myself as having three cats instead of two. I have two in this dimension and one in the other!
