23. I do have a concern with the last text message...Outsource the war?
First this is a very powerful piece, and very appreciative of it.
I just have a concern about the very last part of it. Where it suggests the US "outsource the war" to Iraqis. It gives the impression that we should have the Iraqi people doing the killing (but does the US still remain the owners of the enterprise?). Just reminds me too much of the whole idea of "Iraqization of the war effort", like Nixon's idea of Vietnamization of that conflict (Let Vietnamese prevent a popular government, by all means, we just drop bombs from the sky). I doubt very much that this was the intention of the film creator, but that is my concern.

What the US needs to do, besides getting the hell out of the Middle East, is to support real self-determination. To end support for oppressive regimes (from Egypt to Israel, to Saudi Arabia. We will not be supporting oppression, military occupation).
