Those are about the WORST things you can say to a child.

If the OP is having momentary doubts, as a Democrat, that's entirely understandable. We all do.

But you don't go around trying to trounce the hope of others- and ESPECIALLY your students.

Yeah, the VERY FIRST POST from the OP disclosing that he/she is a teacher BAGGED ON his/her students, hard, calling them illiterate.

If the OP needs support, they should say so. Otherwise, they should shut the fuck up. And they should DEFINITELY NOT be bringing this into their classroom, especially if they are working with those who don't have much hope to begin with.
