8. I feel exactly the same way
Let it go.

you know, I was in negotiations with an employer about 5 years back. The lawyer for the other side said that if we pushed too hard for pay increases and better benefits, that the employer would just close the place and sell it to a real estate developer. My negotiating team caucused and we came back in 15 minutes. what I said was, "Fuck it, close it down. If you're still open tomorrow morning, we'll put our proposal on the table, without one change in it. now go back and tell your boss if he doesn't like it, close the place."

Needless to say, we're still open and I got a pretty fair deal. Anyway, we ratified the contract and I got re-elected.

Now, maybe some dems in Congress can tell Paulsen, here's the deal, we want bi-partisan congressional oversight, we want a stimulus package that includes infrastructure, we want a provision to help the average home owner, we want a provision the excludes all CEO bonuses, and we want to repeal the 2005 bankruptcy bill.

That's our demand. If we don't have a deal, tell your boss (Bush) that we don't give a shit about the meltdown. Let it happen.
