The devils are always in the details. The claim of lower taxes has always meant doing so without making real sacrafices. The money always came in from the backdoor...excise and sin taxes and fees or defecit spending. In the early 90's, I believed that the GOOP encouraged the defecit for their own interests. In those days, the government didn't borrow from China, but from our own large banks...and the more they borrowed, the more interest the banks made. It got even sweeter as the debt grew...the principal was never touched and we ended up paying interest on the interest. Clinton helped to fix this mess, and then the boooshies just picked up where poppy left off and went into hyper drive with it.

These people remind me of the person who will glaly "advise" you on your finances but they'd clam up if you ever asked about theirs. They're selfish and short-sighted...believing that they're entitled to an "American dream" that means having little responsibility to the general welfare. But for 25 plus years, that thought won a lot of elections.
