The Republicans hate our government. They love our country. |
|
They can wave the flags and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with the best of them. Nobody can question their love for this country. They always support our military.
However, they hate big government. They even hate little government. They hate all government. That could be one reason that they have such a difficult time making government work when they are in power?
They will tell you point blank that they want government small enough to drown in a bathtub. What do they mean by that?
They have a deathly fear of debt and deficits when the Democrats are in power, But it is they that run up the debt and deficits to intolerable levels every time they win an election. It is not done by accident. It is done on purpose.
If they can destroy this government by running us so far in debt that there can be no social programs at all, then they see that as the ultimate victory. Reagan believed it and George W Bush believed it in spades. Those two presidents are mostly responsible for the majority of the debt and deficits we now encounter under President Obama. There are some that believe George W Bush came out with the TARP bailout in his last few weeks in office, just as a final nail in the coffin. Let's break this government to the point it cannot be fixed.
Now, in self-righteous fear and anger, they scream that Obama is destroying our nation with his big spending programs and his "socialism". They thought government was dead. Now Obama has breathed new life into it and it is like a Frankenstein monster. They are deathly afraid of the government that has survived their blood-letting.
They tried to kill government once and for all. They did everything conceivable to wipe the US Government off the face of this earth. They spent us into oblivion. Wars and huge Medicare programs that they put on the credit card. Everything was put on the credit card. They doubled the national debt in just eight short years.
Yet, they now express their deep concern for the spending programs of Barack Obama. They hate the fact that he may have saved this government. They thought they had killed it...
