It has been outsourced for years. I was under the impression that the article is referring to 3D animation (2D is pretty much a dead art form unless we're talking about Flash animation). I think 3D animation is still a young enough field that it hasn't quite been completely outsourced overseas just yet (I have a few friends in the field). But give it time. When they decide Americans are making too much, the gaming companies will all ship off to India (Though from the sound of the article, it sounds iike they may well be on their way...).
