This is what we wre seeing, and they don't understand. I will say at this point I don't think they care either, but that is another story. At this point we have millionaires in office who really do not understand how hard it is for the average American to make it. We hear it in things like "well retrain..." Not that easy if you have kids and all that. Reality is that we are at the hollow up stage of Empire as well as a full disconnect between them and us. Granted, MOST republicans are worst at this, but at least they don't make bones as to who they work for. Ours are just as much out of touch.

But there is more, we have seen the reemergence of values that are part of the DNA in the culture. It goes back before Calvin. It is the belief that poor are either deserving or not. And that those that are not deserving should be let to starve. Most poor are seen in the not deserving category. This is a conflict that goes back a long time. And to be honest, it disgusts me.
