Rich boy murderer, Part 2/ Wants to be excused from
paying civil award to family of murder victim Trent DiGiuro. "DiGiuro, a University of Kentucky football player, was killed in Lexington in 1994. Ragland admitted to fatally shooting DiGiuro at a rental house on Woodland Avenue while DiGiuro was celebrating his 21st birthday. He was shot from ambush because his spoiled rich boy ass got blackballed from a goddamn fraternity. ""This is the most hideous crime I've seen in my 42 years in court," Conway said. "He (Ragland) laid in wait, less than 75 yards away, and he told someone he was going to do it two years before ... he got his varmint rifle, and he shot him. "
Conway, lawyer for Trent's family, also urged the judges to look at Ragland's lack of participation in the retrials. Ragland was not in the courtroom Thursday.
"And you could bet your bottom dollar he won't show up at this trial," Conway said. ..... In some of the local papers, mention was made that during RICH BOY's stay in prison he got his jaw broke. One of my employees was in prison with him and said it happened when RICH BOY (shane ragland) was talking RICH BOY shit in the weight room. Regardless, Readers if this POS shows up in your town SHUN him. Last known residence in Aliquippa Pennsylvania. He thinks he is a ladies man too. People like this POS and his sorry ass rich enabling family makes me want to Finish the class war. Fuck you to all his prick, shallow, & awful family.

3. You mistake what I'm making light of.
The murder of Mr. DiGiuro was as tragic as Mr. Ragland's sniper-style attack was despicable and cowardly, but the fact remains that Mr. Ragland has, at least ostensibly, served his time. He took a plea agreement from Mr. Larson's office that extended an offer of time served in exchange for an admission of guilt to manslaughter. While I can certainly understand that some (and presumably yourself) would feel that this is not just, one can hardly be angry with Mr. Ragland for accepting such a deal. In my opinion, if there's anyone to be angry at, it's the ballistics expert from Mr. Ragland's trial as well as the Commonwealth's Attorney for stepping out of line during said trial and creating reversible error for Mr. Ragland's appellate counsel to hone in on.

Even still, the fact remains that he has served the sentence that was given to him by Mr. Larson's office. Personally, I find Mr. Larson's rationale for avoiding a retrial of Mr. Ragland highly suspect. I would imagine the real reason has less to do with the safety of witnesses and more to do with the lack of admissible evidence at this point in the game.

So what I'm making light of is not Mr. DiGiuro's tragic death, nor Mr. Ragland's heinous act. I am, or was, trying to muse aloud at what point is justice served? When anonymous internet posters say it is? If that were the case, then I fear for the future of the American criminal justice system.

But that's just my two cents.

4. Served 'his time' because of daddy's money
Yes Ray Larson and the 'ballistics expert' used are highly suspect. I work with a jury member who was scarred shitless when this travesty of 'justice' went down. This jury member says that even without the ballistic testimony he was guilty of 1st degree premeditated murder. The fact that the girlfriend witness was too scared of the Ragland family to come back to Lexington and testify again is the reason Ray says he would not retry and made the decision for the deal. Your comment"at what point is justice served? When anonymous internet posters say it is?
If that were the case, then I fear for the future of the American criminal justice system." Why don't you fear for the American justice system that rich & powerful buy their way out of justice. The only thing we as a people can do now is SHUN this admitted murderer. How much money exchanged hands under the table on this case? The razor says that is what happened. If this scum shows his ass in my vicinity, ie, where I work, an iconic Lexington restaurant, I will put his ass on the street. Why you would waste time on his defense " at least ostensibly, served his time" is something I don't understand. Shane Ragland is an admitted murderer walking the streets, Trent is in a graveyard. Justice was not served!!!! That is my goddamn two cents.
