And, stating the obvious, start the hard work to give her those coattails that down ticket Dems can ride, really making these MAGA Nazi fucks irrelevant and giving her a House and Senate to support her and keep them from tying her hands. It is imperative that we win it all or we are in for at least 2 years of nothing. There are 0 real republicans left in the house and while there may be a few more still left in the Senate, most have seen how far they can push the extremists envelope and get away with it. There are few if any left we can reach across the isle too. Bipartisanship is dead IMO until THEY learn to compromise, not us!! It will be hard even if we are up 51/49 in the Senate unless we 86 the filibuster (which we must if we have the chance, to do otherwise is suicide).

I'm gonna pound this message as the weeks progress because I feel it gets lost in the drama of the presidential race. I personally believe these races are as or more important in the coming election. I'm doing my part locally, I demand you do yours. We so very very desperately need a sweep to stop and reverse the damage that not just 4 years of The Felon but of at least the last 6 years of repuke rat fucking.

I hope the party responds in kind and really starts to make a push on down ticket races like we've never seen. Seriously, they will throw every wrench in their rusty tool box to stop us if they take either or even, your deity forbid, the executive too.. The first true battle of this war started last night and Kamala won and has has put us in a strong position. Very rare "Lake Effect Storm" for late summer early fall. A result of this anomalously cool/cold weather spell

I posted yesterday about some of the crazy weather the Great lakes and Ohio/Valley have coming up this weekend, especially the wild up to 50 degree daily temperature swings we will be having through most of this week with lows progressing from the 30's to the 40's and 50's by mid week and highs in the 60"s to near 90 by midweek. You've heard of lake effect snow, how about lake effect storms in the late summer?

Here is a very rare example of such storms being caused by a combination of an east propagating very small shortwave low enhancing southerly flow and interacting with very cool land breezes over the still very warm waters of lake Michigan. The contrast of temperature over the lake, as in winter, is causing convection to form on the southern side of most of the lakes.

Think of a super sized version of early morning light fog or mist you may see over a pond or river. And sometimes you can see that light fog spinning in the am! That's what the Marine Warnings are for on the southern side of a few of the lakes as several water spouts have been sighted. Its the exact same thing only on a grand scale

You rarely see convection this strong caused by the lakes in late summer, this is normally a very late fall, winter phenomena involving usually snow. While lake enhanced rain is not all that uncommon it is rarely isolated like this and even more rare causing convective cloud tops up to 30k feet. Very rare indeed!

Some pretty wild weather extremes coming to the lower Great Lakes/Ohio Valley

Extreme temperature swings over the next 2 weeks for this time of year. We've already had some rather wild temperature swings this summer here in N Central IN with a few week long stretches in late July and August in the 90's and a few 100's (and dewpoints insufferable to the locals in the low 80's). While these hot/humid days are becoming increasingly common over the last decade (it's noticeably warmer here during the summer than when I was a kid) the last couple of "heat weeks" with mid/upper 90's and dews in the upper70s/80 in August, have been followed by crazy, sometime record, low temperature weeks. We saw 6 days here where not so unusual highs were in the upper 70's to 80 but lows were dipping into the low 40's in August. (5 record low's were set for my area for August!)

It looks like these big swings are going to continue throughout the area coming up. After another brief warmup back close to 90 this week, this weekend lows are going to dip down into the upper 30's with highs in the mid to upper 60's around here! Frost advisories are already being posted in WS and MN this week which is anomalously early.

To top that off, by the middle of the next week we should start seeing temperatures across the area warm back up to swings with daytime highs approaching 90 but the nighttime lows will be crashing into the 50's. Many areas will be seeing a week next week with desert like 40 degree daily temperature swings! Extremely wild swings for this time of year.

These types of anomalies could be a result of Climate Change. It doesn't have to be "hot" to be Climate Change". It's main reason we don't use the ridiculous "Global Warming" description anymore because Climate Change is causing exactly that, extreme changes in both global and local climates.

While I'll take all day these cool breaks from evermore stifling summers, its starting to get crazy. These big daily temperature swings 40 maybe 50 degrees on a daily basis have really become more and more common around here over the last 5 years when I checked the records and it's a little bit spooky. I'm an avid believer the tipping point has been reached, the normal imbalance in the atmosphere has been stretched to it's limit. We should not think of Climate Change as a gradual process and this aggravated imbalance in the atmosphere is snapping resulting in some really big swings in the weather. It's here and we're gonna have to deal with it.

Enough doom and gloom. For those in the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley regions enjoy the next couple of weeks of shorts and shirtless days and long pants and flannel shirts at night lol. Winters Comin
