About Me

I love animals, all animals with the exception of some humans. They say time heals grief, but, for those of us who have lost a child or a beloved dog, something will always always be missing. I've lost a child and a very beloved relative and a few very beloved dogs. Grief is grief and sometimes it never leaves us. Try to be kind.

Millionaires will burn through 2/3 of world's carbon budget by 2050

To limit global warming to below 1.5°C, we can only burn a certain amount of carbon.

But millionaire emissions alone will deplete 72 per cent of this allowance before 2050, according to a paper published in the latest Cleaner Production Letters journal.

Continued growth in emissions at the top makes a low-carbon transition less likely, as the system's capacity to decarbonize,” the scientists warn.

Grump, these are GREAT!

Some of your finest! Bravo! "20 frames per second."

Have you ever been up in one of these rockets? Their precision flying is just amazing and you've done a great job capturing it.

I love air shows and living in Hampton Roads, I've had the pleasure of attending many of them.

(As you know, one of our closest friends commanded the Thunderbirds 35yrs ago. His wife threw a baby shower for me.

Btw, I'm sorry I can't hop on FB & give you a thumbs up there because I'm always inundated with messages. It's either DU or FB - I can't keep up with both. You're just amazing to keep up with ALL you do!)

Wise words from another century

Because the heart beats under a covering of hair, of fur, feathers, or wings, it is, for that reason, to be of no account?

- Jean Paul Richter (1763-1825)

Can only imagine the slings & arrows he must have dodged.

douglas9, thank you for posting this.
It is a great example of how GOP-ism works.

Just heard from a Democratic voting friend

In TENN that she's not comfortable with men in drag be they gay or straight!!

Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed in her....so much so, I don't think I'll be contacting her much any more.

Amazing!

Sending this to my son who collects swords, a hobby he began in his taekwondo days.

True, but I had to laugh.

Society cannot become intimidated by RW thugs!!

I saw that and emailed it out last night with that message.

Seems as if little Hitlers are popping up everywhere...and this capitulation is scary.

I'd like to see all those responsible for this cruelty

Locked in small cages and tortured.

And I'd like to be in that courtroom with a bucket of doggie turds to throw at them all, including Elizabeth Goldentyer & Robert Gibbens for not doing their job.

That's a church for approximately ...

Every 300 people, assuming everyone there goes to church.

But I knew a fair number of atheists there. A close friend founded a large atheist group called ASK - Atheist Society of Knoxville.

My hubby & I were planning to move back but reconsidered given the religiosity of the area. They even pray at HOA meetings!!
