Debate watchers were a bit more Democratic in their party affiliation than voters nationwide. Heading into the debate, Democrats were more enthusiastic about Walz than Republicans were about Vance, perhaps explaining the Democratic lean of tonight's audience.
Most partisans felt only their party's VP nominee is prepared, while most independents said both are.
The candidates were seen as even on some of the issues that came up at the debate, including the economy and the conflict in the Middle East. Walz was seen as better at talking about health care and abortion, while Vance had the edge on immigration.
Walz got higher marks for his answers, preparation etc, however, "overall" both candidates increased their favorability ratings.
I think we did quite well considering that Vance is fast talking, polished, slick, gish galloping attorney!
As the saying goes, "First do no harm!"
We got an increase favorability. (But Vance got the same amount)
So, it's likely the debate is not going to have much of an impact on the election. (My opinion)
It did have the potential to not go well, so in that respect it is a "win".
And a "tie" is a bit of a loss for Vance who was trying very hard to negate Trump's horrible debate performance.

PETA wants to put an anti-leather sign in front of world's largest boot sculpture at San Antonio's North Star Mall
The boots, covered with urethane foam and painted to look like ostrich skin, were molded onto a steel frame that could be disassembled and reassembled. (No animal products are involved)
The activist group hopes to put up the sign before the holiday shopping season. Mall officials say it's against company policy.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has sent a letter to North Star Mall pitching the placement of an anti-leather sign in front of the shopping destination's iconic World's Largest Cowboy Boots statue.
"Give animal leather the boot," the proposed sign would read, according to PETA's announcement. "Please shop for vegan leather: made from cactus, apple, pineapple, cork and more."
PETA hopes to put up its plea at the mall's entrance just in time for the holiday shopping season, according to its letter. A mockup provided by the activist group shows the sign partially obscuring the 35-foot-high shit kickers,[b] which have the appearance of being made from ostrich and cow leather.

Over 700 pounds of illegal bologna stuffed in suitcases seized at Texas border, feds say
A 43-year-old woman crossing the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas told officers that she had cooked meat in her vehicle.
As agriculture specialists at the Presidio port looked further, they found several heavy suitcases containing 40 rolls, weighing in at 748 pounds, of bologna in her SUV.
But the rolls were not the type of bologna that can be bought at a deli counter in the U.S., rather it was an illegal meat that posed a threat to the U.S. pork industry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a Sept. 25 news release.
“Mexican bologna is a prohibited product because it is made from pork and has the potential for introducing foreign animal diseases,” CBP said.

Former President Donald Trump is set to visit Tuscaloosa again for an Alabama football game. Ahead of his visit, the University of Alabama released a statement to AL.com on Thursday.
"We have been notified that the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, plans to attend the Alabama-Georgia football game on Sept. 28 after receiving an invitation from a private citizen," the statement from UA read. "The safety of our campus is and will remain our top priority, and UAPD will work closely with the U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement partners to coordinate security. Like for every UA football game, walk-through metal detectors will be in place and the clear bag policy will be strictly enforced. Additional safety measures will be enacted in collaboration with local and federal agencies, so fans are encouraged to arrive early to expedite the security screening process. The University's focus will continue to be ensuring a safe and positive gameday experience for the student-athletes, fans of both teams, and all campus visitors."
Trump, per his campaign, plans to attend the game between the Crimson Tide and Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28. No. 4 Alabama (3-0) will face No. 1/2 Georgia (3-0) at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
Trump has attended two Crimson Tide games before, and this will be his second visit to Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Judge halts search of digital devices in Texas vote harvesting investigation (One subject of Paxton's raids)
Manuel Medina, former Bexar Co. Democratic Party chair, had home searched as part of Texas Attorney General’s investigation
SAN ANTONIO – A judge ordered a temporary halt to the search of digital devices confiscated from Manuel Medina, the former chair of the Bexar County Democratic Party, in an investigation led by the Texas Attorney General’s Office into alleged illegal vote harvesting.
The devices, which include more than 60 cellphones and over 40 computers, were seized more than two weeks ago after investigators searched Medina’s home.
Medina appeared in district court Wednesday, arguing that authorities lacked a warrant to search the contents of the devices.
The investigation centers on allegations that Medina was recorded discussing a scheme to collect votes for Texas House candidate Cecilia Castellano, a Democrat whom Medina previously served as an aide.
