Soul Man (1986)
Ronald Reagan really brought racism back out of the closet bigly in the 1980s.
It should be noted that 'Soul Man' had some very negative real life implications too..

NCIS: Origins to cast young Scott Bakula
Not only will it be cool for Origins to cast a young version of Scott Bakula's character from NCIS New Orleans but think of the possibilities ..
That actor could also be used to reboot Star Trek Enterprise and Quantum Leap.

On Friday night Star Trek watch party we had a Scott Bakula night and watched an episode of Quantum Leap (Sam leaped into young Al's body and accidentally got him pinned for SA and murder and had to fix it "Oh boy...")

I still can't get the theme out of my head.

It's hard enough for an actor to become legendary for just one TV role, but these individuals were able to do so for two characters on two separate shows.

Dad working out in daughter's room is a funny ad..
The daughter arrives home for the holidays only to find her dad has moved a treadmill into her room.
She finds him running on the treadmill in his short shorts as she throws up a little in her mouth
BTW the dad is played by Chris Farley's brother.
Judge orders arrest of ex-Green Beret part of 2020 Venezuelan Coup
There were quite a few threads about this coup attempt at the time on the forum here..
Updated on: November 1, 2025 / 7:32 AM EDT
A federal judge in Tampa has ordered the arrest of a former Green Beret accused of plotting to invade Venezuela in 2020 after he failed to show up to court for a hearing on whether he should be taken back into custody for violating the conditions of his pre-trial release.
Jordan Goudreau, 49, was arrested last year on weapons smuggling charges tied to the failed coup attempt undertaken during the first Trump administration...

Counterpart
Finally got around to watching Counterpart. Pretty good..
Fringe meets Severance is how I would describe it. Take a major storyline from Fringe but with the dark ominous feel of Severance..
Perry Mason "Bay of Pigs"
With Trump and Hegseth stirring the shitstorm in the Caribbean it was interesting last night to see this episode of Perry Mason S8.E29 on MeTV 📺

The script has totally flipped from JFK to Trump. Back then you had right wing Generals hellbent on dragging US into a wider War ..
Now we have an Administration hellbent on killing...
ð The missile strike by the Trump administration on suspected drug boats has implications for the wider regional nexus of politics, crime and state complicity. @jerrymcdermott explained on @dwnews.

Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."

Tron: Ares
The way the latest Tron movie flopped was fairly predictable.
You go from a franchise led by Jeff Bridges to Jared Leto..
I'm one of a handful of critics who loved this movie, but I continued to be bewildered that Jared Leto ever had any power in Hollywood as an actor, producer, or anything else. He has an Oscar win, but his name has never guaranteed box office, and apparently he's quite a skeezy character IRL.
