Newly released documents indicate that a U.S. genetic database had received the sequence of the coronavirus two weeks before it was made public by others.
In late December 2019, eight pages of genetic code were sent to computers at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.
Unbeknown to American officials at the time, the genetic map that had landed on their doorstep contained critical clues about the virus that would soon touch off a pandemic.

A new DU member
I just wanted to thank DU and all of the wonderful DU members for this great site.
I've been lurking for several months after I tripped across the site looking for some other information and have grown to really appreciate the opinions and information offered here.
I've made it official now and made my donation to become a star member.
Most of my family are of the confused GOP type and I take great pleasure in calling BS when they ape the typical, fictional RW talking points. It's a challenging task but one I welcome with great pride.
Thanks again. I look forward to a resounding victory tomorrow and four more years of FORWARD! progress.
