Republicans abandon Obamacare repeal

On Capitol Hill and the 2022 campaign trail, the party's appetite for undoing former President Obama's signature law has faded, lawmakers and candidates say.

Why don’t we go on offense as Republicans and not get trapped into the question about repealing the ACA? Our health care system was garbage by government regulation before the ACA. The ACA just made it worse,” Roy said.

A budget plan released in June by Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., who chairs the conservative Republican Study Committee, proposes to “unwind the ACA’s Washington-centric approach” and consider other solutions for pre-existing conditions. But when asked whether repealing the law should be part of the Republican agenda if the party recaptures the House this fall, Banks said, “I’ll defer to leader McCarthy on what that agenda will look like.”

Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., a member of the Republican Study Committee, was blunter when he was asked whether he expects a new Republican House majority to pursue ACA repeal.

“I don’t think that’s on the table,” he said.

Applegrove: if they want to keep the ACA it is to catch all the people who fall out of Medicare when the GOP sunsets it. Said old people need a place to go where their preexisting conditions will be allowed by private insurance. There is no way the GOP could sunset Medicare without the ACA and protection for the old people, making a false soft landing. Otherwise there would be riots on the streets. Then the suddenly senior heavy ACA will collapse as private insurance tries to make a profit and up the insurance rates for all. Healthy young and rich old will skip the ACA and its' steep premiums. Then, once it collapses, the USA will be filled with rugged individuals and dead people, and no taxes for the right wing rich to pay. Oh and no run on old age homes and no runs on cancer centers as only those with $$$$ will get treatment. No intergenerational transfer of wealth in the middle class. The health care conglomerates and health insurance corporations will have it all. Proving once again it is about bankrupting the middle class so the rich right wing never face off against people with power. Rich lefties will take one look at the chaos that replaced the middle class and be corrupted into hoarding wealth for themselves and their children. .

Republican challenger in Nevada Senate race refuses to back FBI, calls it 'far too political'

Adam Laxalt, the state's former attorney general, criticized Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto for what he called a lack of support for police.

Applegrove: not a lot of room there to exist for the Democratic candidate, and human being, in the minds and hearts of voters if they listen to this Republican. It is called persecution. I guess a hypocrite can attack you from all sides of an issue at the same time leaving you with no existence = humanity, and do it on every issue. Then there is no connection with the voter for the Democrat at all. The buildup to genocide involves dehumanization after all. I'm not saying there will be genocide in
the USA. Just that the tools of it are being used. Giving your opponent nowhere to stand is one way. If she backs the FBI, she's a lefty. If she backs the police, we'll he has 95% of their support.

That is because the GOP de-govern to put pressure points on voters so they stop

voting rationally and follow a mob where ever the mob looks like it is going.

Or they don't want Democrats to live long. So they can't vote, get ss or Medicare,

and so they become way poorer. Basically destroy the middle class and any power it has.

Authoritarians turn democracies into their own colonies to be corrupted from the inside.

No surprise someone like her is corrupt and in this scenario the middle class are the Indigenous people to be made powerless by ruining realtor protocol. Is the daughter qualified? Will it hurt her customers? Will it hurt the realtor whose place she took. Thousands of little hits to democracy.

And that they want to gut social security and Medicare that will

force today's seniors, who were the generation to leave a lot of wealth to their children, well they'll have to go into savings if they have any. If not then they'll have to borrow from their kids to survive. This is about the GOP wanting 'snow walkers'. Snow Walkers is a Farley Mowatt story about an elderly arctic inuit who walk away from their home one winter night and perish so they do not use up the resources of the younger generation. The ultimate sacrifice. The GOP sure are focused on the bad fare of the aged in the USA. But it will sap the younger middle class too. People should know that. It is a money and power grab some more.

He's focused on the former MAGAs or soon to be former MAGAs.

It used to be Republicans did perpetual campaigning. Now they do perpetual cold

war, and sometimes a hot war like Jan 6th.

She seems to be referencing what Rick Scott talked about sunsetting:

SS and Medicare. Just guessing.
