"Best debate, personally, That I've ever had "

Newsweek:

The Republican presidential candidate talked up his own performance in a noisy room full of reporters: "It was the best debate, personally, that I've ever had. We're getting polls that show 92 percent, 88..." "Mr. President speak louder," a reporter interrupted.

He went on to claim that early polling was showing "90 percent, 60 percent, 72 percent, 71 percent, and 79 percent" of viewers thought he won the debate. "Where are you getting these numbers from?" a reporter asked. Trump did not reply.

The End of Innocents

I have listened to this song thousands of times but never hit me like it did this morning on my commute. One phrase in this song goes like this:

“O' beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They're beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie

But I know a place where we can go
And wash away this sin
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence”

Community supports Sandfly BBQ after boycott called

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Sandfly BBQ received an outpouring of support over the weekend after it received backlash on social media after Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz and their campaign bus stopped there to eat on Wednesday.

The campaign stop to the restaurant caused some to post on Facebook a call to boycott the restaurant because of it. However, over the weekend, customers poured into the establishment, some waiting an hour for food.

Pop group ABBA ask Donald Trump to stop using their songs, but Trump team says they have the OK

NEW YORK (AP) — Swedish supergroup ABBA has asked Donald Trump to stop using their music at campaign rallies, but the Republican presidential nominee’s campaign says it has permission.

“ABBA has recently discovered the unauthorized use of their music and videos at a Trump event through videos that appeared online,” said a statement to The Associated Press from the band, whose hits include “Waterloo,” “The Winner Takes It All” and “Money, Money, Money.”

“As a result, ABBA and its representative has promptly requested the removal and deletion of such content. No request has been received; therefore, no permission or license has been granted.”

Was it a couch or a sofa?

Couches and Sofas Aren’t the Same Thing
Though usually used interchangeably, these are technically two different pieces of furniture — and the distinction lies in the words themselves. “Couch” comes to us from French, namely coucher — “to lie down” — whereas we have the Arabic word suffah to thank for “sofa.” In the most traditional sense, a sofa would be a wooden bench that comes complete with blankets and cushions and is intended for sitting. eBay’s selling guide used to distinguish between the two by defining a couch as “a piece of furniture with no arms used for lying.” Though it may be a distinction without a difference these days, purists tend to think of sofas as a bit more formal and couches as something you’d take a nap on and let your pets hang out on.

I was reading an abstract “fun” factoid article and ran across this.

So; couch or sofa? Doesn’t really matter, he is still weird.

Overheard at the office today

In light of the big news, I overheard one MAGA to another make the claim that “She” has been running the government and making all the decisions. She being Kamala.

That’s how easy they transfer their hate.
