It's been some years since I last posted. I might post again, but then again, I might not.
America is being put on blast. This country has allowed all and any matter of atrocities to happen, up to and including the current White House occupant. This country's biggest crime - slavery - has to date been swept under a filthy-dirty rug. There is no way such an atrocity can be ignored. What is happening now is the beginning of this country's karma. My ancestors were removed from their origins, separated from their families, beaten, raped, killed, and forced to build this filthy-dirty place that so many reference as the "home of the free, land of the brave." The effects of slavery are still felt today. In fact, slavery still exists today . . . the plantation was expanded to "accommodate" more slaves. This country has never done what needs to be done about "the curious institution" known as slavery. And now, today, well we have white nationalists/supremacists infesting the streets of this free home and brave land. There is an orange creep occupying the white house. The orange creep is the voice/face/leader of the white supremacists and everything wrong with this country. This orange creep ascended to the highest office in the land because this country has failed at every turn to set things right. The orange creep is the culmination of this failed country. America is officially the loser of the world. America has never been great, nor will it ever be great. Today, well, it's just the beginning of a very long end. You all think it's summertime right now? Nah. It's winter, it's bitter, and it is here for the long haul.

I am wondering if there is a way to move a post to another area for more views/action. I submitted a post to the Health forum/Chronic Diseases and Conditions in regards to gaining signatures for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. The petition is intended to go to the White House. Petition needs 100,000 signatures by October 22. I just want to make sure that as many DU members as possible see the thread in hopes that they can help with providing signatures and perhaps passing the message along to their friends.

Sickle Cell Disease Association of America
The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America has launched a petition. In part, "A successful petition will not raise national awareness about the importance of sickle cell disease but also places SCD in a unique position to be supported in key branches of government to include Administration and Congress," according to SCDAA.
Please take time to sign this petition. I am affected by sickle trait and I have close friends who have sickle cell disease. It is devastating. More funding for research is desperately needed in order to get better treatment and hopefully a cure. The link contains more information, as well as a links to sign the petition. Thank you.
