Christian woman will no longer wear "lustfull" leggings to help men w self control

A Christian wife and mother has announced her decision to no longer wear leggings so she won't inspire 'lustful' feelings from men who are not her husband.
Lululemon, look away.

An online blog post by a Christian wife and mother has created a firestorm in public chatter after her drawn-out declaration on why she will no longer wear “lustful” leggings.

In what has become a contentious avowal — drawing more than 100 comments and 23,000 Facebook likes — Veronica Partridge spills about her inner struggle over the form-fitting pants, which for months she states had weighed "heavy on my heart."

It wasn’t until the comely Oregon woman confronted her husband about his thoughts as a man that she resorted to banning them from her wardrobe.

"...When I walk into a place and there are women wearing yoga pants everywhere, it's hard to not look. I don't, but it's not easy," he allegedly confessed to her.

"If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control?" she wrote

Congo's first women park rangers

A Kalashnikov, a cartridge magazine, some spare casings and a pink plastic hand mirror are strewn across Francine Bwizabule Muhimuzi’s roughly made bed at the staff accommodation on the edge of Virunga national park. She is one of the first tranche of women who last year became rangers – “gardiens du parc” – at Africa’s oldest national park.

Muhimuzi has just returned from a week stationed halfway up Mount Nyiragongo, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. “I’d see the volcano as a child from Goma, but I never thought I’d go up there,” she says. Today, she makes the 2,000m ascent, Kalashnikov on her shoulder, without breaking a sweat. “There is not yet equality, but in the park, we see it is improving, because they have begun to recruit women.”

-----
The 27-year-old, who was forced to flee her home in Bukavu, South Kivu, in 2004, when CNDP rebels took the town, says she is putting her career first; marriage is not in her plans right now. “I had nothing, and to get married with nothing? Men would be walking all over me.”

With few jobs available in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, many women work in the informal sector, where income is erratic and benefits such as holiday and maternity leave don’t exist. There are only 300,000 formal private-sector jobs for the whole country, with a population of 68 million, according to the World Bank.

Get Jarrid his tip money! NORTH DARTMOUTH, MACommunity & Neighbors
If you go and watch this video, you will see Jarrid was just doing his job delivering a pizza. The guys at the used car lot decided it would be funny to give Jarrid, a hard-working pizza delivery person, a hard time. After being paid and clarifying the remainder was a tip, Jarrid went on his way. Then after he left, the car lot called the manager at the pizza shop and made Jarrid go return what he was told was a tip. I believe Jarrid should be rewarded for dealing with such crappy people. Please watch the video and donate. Even if it is $1, it will make up (maybe a little) for him having to deal with idiots like this.

Thank you,
Amanda

'Time for a well deserved glass of wine', woman celebrates inappropriately

A woman who repeatedly punched a man in an unprovoked attack boasted about walking free from court – while posting photos on Facebook with her thumbs up.
Sophie Sheldon was part of a group of drunk thugs who partially blinded a man in the brutal attack outside a nightclub in Birmingham.
CCTV footage shows the 20-year-old leaning over the helpless victim as he lies in agony on the floor, punching him in the face.
Her accomplices can also be seen lashing Ismail Bensalaman, 33, in the face with his belt, destroying his eye.

___!

The young woman from Gwent, South Wales, who delivered at least four punches and a kick to Mr Bensalaman while wearing high heels, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was given a two-year suspended sentence with a six-month curfew.
Sentencing, Judge Paul Farrer said: ‘It is plain you acted out of character against a very particular background. Unwisely, you went to, in effect, drown your sorrows. The violence you used was minimal.

average rent for two bedroom in LA = $1,890 now

The folks at Apartment List looked at "several hundred thousand monthly listings on our site" and determined that the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment in L.A. last month was about double the national average.

That's $1,890 here versus about $950 in much of the rest of America. The finding once again placed L.A. among the most expensive cities in the United States for housing costs.

The site looked at rents in 100 U.S. metro markets overall.

Los Angeles ranked third for highest rents nationwide among the 10 largest American cities, Apartment List found.

New York topped the list with a $3,250 December average. San Jose, home of booming Silicon Valley, came in second place among the 10 largest cities with $2,160.

Only three cities on that list, Dallas ($910), San Antonio ($830) and Phoenix ($760) had average December rents that were less than the national average, the site said

Why Women Stay Quiet at Work

YEARS ago, while producing the hit TV series “The Shield,” Glen Mazzara noticed that two young female writers were quiet during story meetings. He pulled them aside and encouraged them to speak up more.

Watch what happens when we do, they replied.

Almost every time they started to speak, they were interrupted or shot down before finishing their pitch. When one had a good idea, a male writer would jump in and run with it before she could complete her thought.

Sadly, their experience is not unusual.

We’ve both seen it happen again and again. When a woman speaks in a professional setting, she walks a tightrope. Either she’s barely heard or she’s judged as too aggressive. When a man says virtually the same thing, heads nod in appreciation for his fine idea. As a result, women often decide that saying less is more.

-----------------

The long-term solution to the double bind of speaking while female is to increase the number of women in leadership roles. (As we noted in our previous article, research shows that when it comes to leadership skills, although men are more confident, women are more competent.) As more women enter the upper echelons of organizations, people become more accustomed to women’s contributing and leading. Professor Burris and his colleagues studied a credit union where women made up 74 percent of supervisors and 84 percent of front-line employees. Sure enough, when women spoke up there, they were more likely to be heard than men. When President Obama held his last news conference of 2014, he called on eight reporters — all women. It made headlines worldwide. Had a politician given only men a chance to ask questions, it would not have been news; it would have been a regular day.
