Bernie Sanders believes his young supporters will bring a political revolution. Just one problem: Young people don't vote.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is said to be the future of the Democratic Party. Not because he is beating Hillary Clinton – he isn't – but because his unvarnished populist appeal has inspired the next generation of liberal Democrats.
That theory has three problems. First, the Democratic Party was already growing more liberal. Two wars, a worldwide financial panic and a radicalized Republican Party did more to revitalize liberalism than Sanders did. Second, Sanders performed better with independents than Democrats.
Third and most important: A vast majority of young people didn't vote.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — After months of spending an unparalleled amount on campaign operations across the country and regularly outspending Hillary Clinton on ad expenditures, Bernie Sanders is tightening his belt.
The campaign slashed the payroll Wednesday by axing hundreds of workers — primarily on the field organizing team — scaling the staff down to its smallest size in months. It downsized its campaign jet, even as the Burlington, Vermont-based candidate spends increasing amounts of time hopping from coast to coast. Top aides no longer travel everywhere with the candidate, choosing instead to stick to Washington and Vermont. Even Sanders' wife, Jane, hasn’t been traveling with him, opting to play the main surrogate role from home. On Thursday, the campaign cut its ad spending in Indiana, the next battleground state on the calendar.

In the swing states that matter most in the presidential race, Donald Trump doesn’t have a prayer against Hillary Clinton in the general election.
That’s according to top operatives, strategists and activists in 10 battleground states who participated in this week’s POLITICO Caucus. Nearly 90 percent of them said Clinton would defeat Trump in their home states in a November match-up.
More than three-quarters of GOP insiders expect Clinton to best the Republican front-runner in a general-election contest in their respective states. Among Democrats, the belief is nearly universal: 99 percent of surveyed said will Clinton will beat Trump.
In three of the biggest swing states—Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida—Republicans were particularly downbeat about the prospect of a Trump-Clinton contest.
“There is positively no way for Trump to win in Pennsylvania,” said a Republican from that state.

In PA, Hillary Clinton got 80,000 more votes than Trump, Bernie Sanders got 100,000 fewer votes than Donald Trump.
In MD, Bernie Sanders got barely more votes than Trump, while Clinton got more votes than Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders combined.
In DE, Clinton topped Trump's vote total by more than 13,000 votes, while Sanders got about 6,000 fewer votes than Trump.
In every single state that voted tonight, Hillary Clinton got more votes than Donald Trump (including in Rhode Island, which she lost to Sanders). In just two states did Sanders accomplish the same.
In total popular vote, Hillary Clinton will come out of tonight with well over 12 million votes, Trump with about 10 million, and Sanders will finish in third place with 9 million votes.
Math, and voters, seem to have a clear bias towards Hillary Clinton.
