For eagle fans. A couple of pics and an update on the kids.

Here are 2 current pics of the Eagles.

The kids are much stronger although the older one is still obviously more advanced. The Mama leaves them more now, but she does nest on them at night. As you can see, the nest has a variety of creatures around the edges. There is a rabbit in there. The kids will peck at the pieces and get small pieces for themselves. Already snacking.
Three days ago, I noticed one had his butt aimed at the camera(and me). I wasn't really paying attention. Suddenly a white blob appeared and whoosh. He had fired a shot at us. He did not have the strength to hit the camera, but his aim was true. I had been shat at. I have seen them fire a few times after that now that I know what I am looking at.

Whether anybody realizes it or not, the Scott shooting IS going before a grand jury.

Prosecutors in South Carolina plan to go to a local grand jury with the case of the former North Charleston police officer who shot and killed a black man during a traffic stop.

The soonest the case could be presented to a grand jury is May 4, according to the prosecutor’s office. The former officer, Michael T. Slager, is being held on a charge of murder in connection with the shooting death of Walter L. Scott on Saturday.

“My role is to hold accountable those who harm others unlawfully, regardless of profession,” prosecutor Scarlett Wilson said in a prepared statement. “This office does not dictate nor comment upon police policy, training and procedure. I am, however, deeply concerned when those who are sworn to serve and protect violate the public's trust.”

In Ferguson, McCullough made a mockery of the use of a grand jury. The way the prosecutor handles this case will tell a lot.

Will a SC jury convict the cop who murdered Walter Scott?

This should be a slam dunk, but nothing about SC, cops, and race ever is. When I told a friend I had my fingers crossed for a conviction, he thought I was nuts. It only takes one juror to hang the whole thing.
Will the cop take a plea bargain? It depends on what the parameters are and how the prosecution presents them. Juries are a crap shoot in the best of circumstances.

The defense will probably build up the short parts that aren't on tape to make Scott seem like a monster. They can't do anything with what is there which is horrible. A lot of the problem is how laws are written. It's what the cop thinks is happening in the circumstances or some such factor.

I think there's a good chance he will be convicted, but I am going to keep my fingers crossed.

Ok eagle people. What is this creature that is in the nest?

I assume it's a bird? I didn't see it brought in.

Okay Eagle people. I have some pics and a question.

I took this picture a couple of days ago. Both Eagles were hanging around the nest which was unusual. I caught this shot of both of them feeding the kids.

This was taken at 7:30am. The eaglet in the front got no food.

This is how the eaglets look today. The one in front does not sit up much. The Mama was just feeding them and that eaglet didn't get any food. The other eaglet is also pecking her some.

Is there something wrong with that eaglet? I can't decide what's going on.
