This Ian hurricane is the perfect opportunity to do teaching about the effects of global warming. That as the atmosphere heats up, more and more water evaporates off the oceans, rising into the air causing greater and greater turbulence. More water in the air causes more frequent storms and more stronger storms. Hey climate deniers! Wake up!
Voting in FL post hurricane
FL devastation post hurricane will surely throw a monkey wrench into voting in Nov. In those areas most affected, probably very few polling places, people who lost their IDs, fewer poll workers.
What exactly has De Santis done?
Did he do massive public messages well before this storm, telling people to leave the state? Did he reach out to Biden for Fema, or was Biden the first to make contact. Did he activate the Nat'l Guard? Did he co-ordinate with Coast Guard or Navy Medical ship? Did he tell people to stock up on food, water, candles, supplies? Where is he? Is he even in the state?

Thank-you Joe for already having rescue and emergency people and plans in place. For reaching out to the gov and mayors to promise whatever emergency and/or long term assistance needed.
I don't live in FL; I live in Tx. Even so, I'm so grateful that Joe Biden is my president! We are so lucky to have him in charge.
-If the DOJ would indict and convict DeSantis and Abbott for kidnapping and
transporting undocumented migrants across state lines, their felony convictions would preclude them from running for POTUS in 2024. If for nothing else, they should be held accountable for the horrendous cruelty they inflicted on those people.
Where did all these hateful MAGA people come from?
What happened? Babies aren't born filled with hatred. What are the causes and conditions for so many people to think that they could proudly and publicly act like assholes and endanger other people? Deny other people their natural rights? Didn't their parents teach them any beneficial social skills? Were they never taught the Golden Rule? Were they never corrected for telling lies?
I just don't get it.

Resentment over student loan forgiveness
Oh you don't like that your tax money paid off some student loans? Yeah, well I don't like that my taxes go to the military/industrial complex -- AKA the war machine. Aid to Israel, regime changes, or the fossil fuel industries.
