A ? On smoked ham hocks for green beans and potatoes
Ok I picked up ham hocks smoked this morning after work do you think I should soak them overnight to get rid of the saltiness.
I plan on adding the meat from ham hocks and cubed ham.
If I just toss them in the ham hocks with the soup without soaking would it then be to salty.
I’ll sauté the bacon and onions probably with cubed ham as well.
Also am using canned beans red skin potatoes I’ll use chicken stock as well.

So this Ukrainian soldier finds a Genie in a bottle.
And the Genie says you have three wishes, Ukrainian soldier says I wish a Mongol horde would come out of the east and attack Ukraine, The Genie is like huh ok I have to do this.
The second wish the Ukrainian soldier says I want a Mongol horde to come out of the east and attack Ukraine , the genie is like thinking is this dude nuts yet he grants the soldier his wish.
Now for the third wish the Ukrainian soldier says I wish for a Mongol horde to come out of the east and attack Ukraine. Now the Genie is like dude what are you doing are you insane you just had your country ransacked pillaged three times by the Mongols.
The Ukrainian soldier looks at the genie and says yes I know but the Mongols went through Russia six times.
I made bacon onions and green beans, it's close though in taste like my grandma would make yet
I’m missing an ingredient I think just by tasting it maybe not any suggestions advice greatly appreciated thanks in advance.
Cook bacon not too crisp dice it up with onion toss in with green beans also i just dump juice and green beans right out of the cans. I let them cook on low for bit salt and pepper it’s close on taste in what I remember.
I’d like to make a huge batch of ham or bacon green beans and potatoes if I can get it right Saturday.
I’m close in trying to recreate a food from my Appalachian childhood.
