The former owner of an Alabama lab has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after admitting to falsifying drug tests, causing multiple parents to lose custody of their kids, according to a report.
I know I did wrong, Brandy Murrah, 37, told her sentencing hearing last Thursday after pleading guilty to a felony charge of perjury as well as 16 misdemeanor counts of forgery, according to the Dothan Eagle.
Ive done a lot of things wrong in my life Im sorry for anyone I ever hurt. I really did not do this intentionally to ever hurt anyone, she told Judge William Filmore, with no motive giving for the forgeries.
Some of the parents who lost custody of their children because of the bogus results from Murrahs A&J Lab Collections in Ozark told the court of the pain Murrahs lies caused their families.

In 2017, Grace Locke of Newton had her two children taken from her due to her drug use. She eventually entered rehab following an arrest. By 2019, Locke said she was clean and wanted to be reunited with her two older children after giving birth to her third child. But when she met with her case workers from the Department of Human Resources in Dale County to talk about a plan to regain custody, she received the news that her latest drug test had come back positive for methamphetamine and her babys test showed exposure. Her 3-month-old baby was taken from her during the meeting.
It was terrible, Locke told the court Thursday. I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest because I knew I was doing right with this one. I knew I was doing right.
She was tested again with negative results, but her baby was taken away from her for nearly three weeks.
I dont understand why anybody would ever do that to any family, any children, for no reason, Locke said.

Murrah, 37, previously owned A&J Lab Collections in the town of Ozark, where she would collect blood, urine and hair samples to send off to another center for testing.
According to prosecutors, Murrah owed money to that testing center and they were unwilling to extend her any further credit.
Thus, Murrah allegedly took matters into her own hands and began falsifying test results in order to save cash.

A Black family who lives in Discovery Bay says a white neighbor confronted them, telling them to "stop acting Black" in their "white neighborhood," according to ABC7 News.
Gerritt Jones and his family, who have lived in the same East Bay neighborhood for 12 years, told ABC7 that they've never had any issues with the woman, identified as Adana Dean, who lives across the street from them.
------------------------
In the videos, Dean says, "You're a Black person in a white neighborhood and you're acting like one why don't you act like a white person in a white neighborhood?"
She goes on to say that she was raised in Oklahoma City, "where there were tons of Black people." She denied to The Chronicle she was holding a stun gun, saying the device in her hand uses a light to scare away "aggressive" dogs.

Here we go again: Panic buyers across U.S. empty shelves of toilet paper, food and disinfectant as 40 states see record daily increases in cases and 20 states report all-time highs in deaths
Toilet paper, disinfectant and groceries are once again flying off the shelves across the United States with states forced to impose stricter lockdowns and the number of new COVID-19 cases spiking to 166,000 Monday.
Pictures taken in recent days show stores in Washington, California, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Michigan and Missouri have all been affected by the rush. It is the second time this year that shoppers appear to be panic buying; stores were left scrambling to restock shelves wiped out in response to COVID-19 back in March.
But experts say the run is likely to be less severe this time as stores and shoppers are more prepared. Subodha Kumar, a supply chain expert at Temple University, told The Daily Beast: 'People have already hoarded a lot of this stuff in their basements.'

Donald Trump reacted to news of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine being 94.5 percent effective by saying the 'great discovery took place on my watch'
Joe Biden warned that Americans still needed to wear masks and social distance because widespread distribution of the doses is still months away
The US government has already bought 100 million doses of Moderna's vaccine
Pfizer announced a week ago that its own COVID-19 vaccine was 90% effective
Moderna expects to have enough safety data required for US authorization in the next week or so and the company expects to file for FDA emergency use authorization in the coming weeks
The US could have two vaccines authorized for emergency use next month with as many as 60 million doses available by the year's end
A key advantage of Moderna's vaccine is that it does not need ultra-cold storage like Pfizer's, making it easier to distribute
Moderna expects it to be stable at standard refrigerator temperatures of 36 to 48F for 30 days and it can be stored for up to 6 months at -4F
