Earlier this month, Utah Guv found solution to water crisis: Pray it away.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox speaks during his monthly news conference in Salt Lake City.

Gov. Spencer Cox asked for Utahns to engage in a "weekend of prayer" to combat the state's drought.
"We need more rain, and we need it now," he said. "We need some divine intervention."
According to the National Drought Mitigation Center, the entire state is deemed "abnormally dry."

GOP Gov. Spencer Cox of Utah on Thursday asked state residents to engage in a "weekend of prayer" for rain amid a severe drought.

Cox's request came after he declared a state of emergency last month. The entire state is considered to be "abnormally dry," with 90.2 percent of Utah undergoing an "extreme drought" and 62.2 percent of the state experiencing an "exceptional drought," according to the National Drought Mitigation Center.

Under such conditions, there is an increased risk of fire danger and native vegetation is adversely impacted.

"By praying collaboratively and collectively, asking God or whatever higher power you believe in, for more rain, we may be able to escape the deadliest aspects of the continuing drought," he said in a video. "Please join me and Utahns, regardless of religious affiliation, in a weekend of humble prayer for rain."

Of course there's that too. Nothing worthwhile, just pray.

Does this party have any thing on the shelf?

Endgame to my Green Card insanity with my wife: Made it to Bangkok

She will be here soon. I'm going through the immigration process here. Let's see how long it takes.

I am exhausted. Going to pass out. Will post BKK pictures tomorrow.

Having lived in China, this doesn't surprise me: Nine men beat up two women in restaurant

All because she rebuffed his advances.

I've seen this happen many times in China. (video is brutal, but common place)

Never ending saga of my wife and immigration is coming to a end soon: Small hiccup

Okay, so I am in Hong Kong in quarantine.

The Chinese government has informed my wife that I cannot cross into the mainland because foreigners need a direct flight to the mainland. Even though Hong Kong is part of China, they kleptocrats wants ever ounce of blood they can get until the body is drained.

Luckily, I have a backup plan. The job in Bangkok came through. Once out of quarantine, I fly to Bangkok. I have an IGCSE and A-Level Economics teaching position about four stops from Siam Square.

They want to interview her as a primary Chinese teacher or a Kindergarten teacher.

So, it's all working out.

We'll be together again in July, except in Thailand and not in China.

Endgame to my Green Card insanity with my wife: Last Day Part #1

Well, in about two hours, I head to the airport to go to Hong Kong.

Passport: Check
Required Visa: Check
Vaccine Cards: Check
COVID19 negative test within 48 hours of flying: Check
Quarantine Hotel in Hong Kong: Check

Uploaded all to the airline: Check

Everything is set.

Landing in Hong Kong tomorrow. I figure by June 15th, I will cross over Shenzhen Bay into the mainland. If they have a heart, I can do the rest of my quarantine with my wife in my home in Jiangsu.

If not, we will be together again on June 29th.

Thank you, DU, for helping me with my GFM to get back to my wife. Thank you all for your support.

I have a VPN, so even though DU is blocked there (but Freeperland isn't), I can still get on here. I will take loads of photos of reuniting with my wife and post them.

I will still be an active Democrat and an active member here, but I will do it, yet again, from overseas.

When China finally ends this idiocy of quarantines, I owe, at minimum, a long Thai vacation for my wife in Phuket and Krabi. . .or maybe Bali instead in Indonesia.
