ChicagoTeamster's JournalAnyone notice how Trump hasn't ranted about the expense of the Iran war?
He constantly complains about how much it costs the US to support Ukraine even though it was only 5% of the total US defense budget and Europe paid for a lot of it. We gave them our older tanks and infantry fighting vehicles and ordnance that was about to expire. But Israel has been getting over 3 billion per year for the last 50 years plus the US stores equipment and spare parts which they are allowed to use. We just sent a huge resupply stockpile to them. Has Trump complained about the expense there in Israel?
Look at what we spent in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait since Desert Storm and through the global war on terror after 9/11.
Ukraine is fighting for their lives after being invaded by the US greatest adversary. After everything the US spent during WWII and then after militarily plus the Marshall Plan, Berlin Airlift etc and Korea, Vietnam (we covered 70% of France's expenses in Vietnam after WWII until they were kicked out in 57) Reagan's arms buildup that brought down the Berlin wall and drove Russia out of Europe and eventually breaking up the Soviet Union.
Just keeping them armed and equipped and providing intel could cause collapse and regime change in Russia so that the US and Western Europe can finally be free from Russia's threat after all the money and the lives already spent. But Trump complains about supporting them.
Yet Trump and Hegseth have significantly depleted the US inventory of key, high-cost, and long-range missiles, with 50% to 80% of some key munitions used. Key expenditures include over 1,000 Tomahawk missiles, 1,200+ Patriot interceptors, and ~1,100 JASSM-ER stealth missiles. Over 35 US personnel have been killed and our logistics footprint in the Gulf has been almost obliterated.
Is Trump complaining about that cost? How much has Israel paid to the US to cover all of this? (No, I don't mean AIPAC bribes to US Congress Members).
Today is National Traitor Surrender Day. April 9th the Confederacy surrendered to the Union at Appomattox VA
We beat them before and we'll beat them again.
Can somebody explain why the S&P didn't crash later in the afternoon after news of the Iran ceasefire collapse ?
Sure, the day started with irrational positivity on the previous evenings news of the ceasefire, but it was being reported by early afternoon today, before the markets closed, that Israel was bombing Hezbollah in Lebanon and also bombing Iran and that Iran had closed the strait of Hormuz.
Why didn't the market drop before closing? Did the plunge protection team keep up the buying to inflate the price so insiders could sell? Was this failed ceasefire another market manipulation move by TrumpCo?
What's going to happen tomorrow?
Did anyone watch the Fox32 debate between Daniel Biss, Kat Abugazaleh, and Laura Fine for Jan Schakowski's House Seat ?
If so, what did you think? If not, There's a link on Fox32 website to either their video or the Podcast.

JD Vance chances of successful administration with MAGA after replacing Trump.
We all know that the US Constitution dictates that should the President of the United States be unable to complete his term he will be replaced by the Vice President and the House Speaker only assumes the role if both are eliminated/incapacitated at the same time. The Speaker does not become Vice President. The Vice Presidential replacement is then nominated by the President and shall only take office after confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
JD Vance is unpopular with MAGA in large part because of his marriage to an Indian women and his children having Indian Hindu names. He's even less popular with Americans in general because of his participation in promoting Trump's racist MAGA policies at home and abroad. Should Trump pass or be replaced (25th Amendment) due to his obvious health issues, Vance would most likely be an even less popular President than Trump.
Most MAGAs probably don't even know about Vance's affiliation and financial backing from Peter Thiel, owner of Palantir (MAGA thinks Palantir has weather machines) and backer of Elon Musk starting way back with his original company X. They even more likely don't know about Vance's affiliation with the distressed farmland acquisition company Acre Traders or his contributions to Heritage Foundation and Project 2025.
If more of the public is reminded about these and other of Vance's social and political liabilities it would probably guarantee him an even lower favorability rating in the polls than Trump is currently getting. That will greatly impact the mid term elections. Maybe even in Texas where the Heritage Foundation president is from because his organization had Vance write the foreword to their Project 2025 book.
Democrats should push Republicans to honor Kirk's wish for release of the Epstein files
Kirk was a vocal proponent for release of everything the courts, the intel and law enforcement agencies, and the news media have on Epstein and his finances, communications, and businesses.
