How bad is the media? 90,000 preventable deaths vs the made up Timmy will get no toys for Xmas story

COVID-19 continues to be a leading cause of death in the U.S. in September 2021

Kaiser: 90,000 deaths from Covid-19 over the past four months were entirely preventable
COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death across most of 2020, but in December 2020 and early 2021, the illness surged and briefly became the number one leading cause of death in the U.S., far surpassing even cancer and heart disease deaths in those months.

With the rapid uptake in vaccinations in the months when vaccines first became widely available, COVID-19 deaths fell sharply. COVID-19 dropped to the number 7 leading cause of death in the U.S. in July 2021.

However, with the more infectious COVID-19 Delta variant, insufficient vaccination rates, and local and state governments easing up social distancing restrictions, COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths increased again. Vaccination rates are particularly lagging for younger adults and people living in certain states. As of October 7, 2021, about 78% of adults (ages 18+) in the U.S. have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and over 50 million adults remain unvaccinated.

Christmas Toys Shortage Fears As Pandemic Disrupts Global Supply (BIDEN'S FAULT NO DOUBT)

Christmas may still be months away, but infrastructure experts and retailers are reportedly already bracing themselves over potential shortages this festive season.

The Marine Exchange of Southern California, which Newsweek has contacted for comment, has noted in its September 15 update how 61 container ships are anchored offshore.

This record number is being forced to wait in line for a week or even longer, to dock and then offload their cargo at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Does anybody really think that Walmart will not have tons of cheap plastic crap from China for Xmas?

House Jan. 6 committee hears testimony from Trump's final attorney general, subpoenas his deputy

Eight hours of closed-door testimony Wednesday!

Jeffrey Rosen, the acting attorney general in the tumultuous final days of the Trump administration, sat for eight hours of closed-door testimony Wednesday with the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol siege, The Washington Post and Politico report, each citing two people familiar with the meeting. Rosen appeared before the committee voluntarily, and he explained his notes about events leading up to the Jan. 6 riot and testified about the steps the Justice Department took to counter the attack on the Capitol, the Post reports.

The Jan. 6 panel also reportedly asked Rosen about his interactions with Jeffrey Clark, the former acting head of the DOJ's civil division and, according to emails and previous testimony, a key ally of President Trump in his efforts to stop President Biden from taking office. The committee wanted to know which of Clark's allies were inside the Justice Department and which were outside of the government, the Post reports.

The Jan. 6 committee also subpoenaed Clark on Wednesday, requesting documents and an in-person deposition by Oct. 29. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said his committee needs to "understand Mr. Clark's role" in the "efforts inside the previous administration to delay the certification of the 2020 election and amplify misinformation about the election results," including "who was involved across the administration."

Why do some people in Florida want the virus to spread and the pandemic to continue?

When I saw MSNBC this AM they were talking about the C-19 case #s dropping in the state
so some school districts are now going to drop the mask mandates. Another 1 or 2 months
of having mask mandates could be a big help in controlling* this disease and not giving the
virus new hosts where they might mutate into a new strains and then the whole cycle might
start again.

* Sadly thanx to the anti mask, anti science, anti vaccine idiots, and just basic biology I think we
have lost the chance "to put this thing" behind us and we will be living and sometimes dying from
this virus for a very long time.

FYI & GTK Facebook has already paid a $5 billion fine* for rat fucking America by their use of ...

... Cambridge Analytica's algorithms and I think that included the 2016 elections too. However almost
nobody knows about that. I have know about Cambridge Analytica and its algorithims that the Russians
and the Trump campaign used to I.D. targeted people on Facebook so as to bath them in misinformation
about Hillary, her emails, her email servers, and her scandals with the Clinton Foundation (A+ rated and
Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton never got 1 dime from) but I have just learned about the $5 billion fine
in the past 2 to 3 weeks.

“Without Facebook, we wouldn’t have won,” said Theresa Hong, a member of the digital arm of Trump’s presidential campaign, in an interview with the BBC last year when giving a tour of Trump’s digital campaign headquarters, dubbed Project Alamo, in San Antonio, Texas. Alamo was the name of the dataset used by Cambridge Analytica, according to Hong, who said Cambridge Analytica shared offices with the Trump campaign’s digital efforts and confirmed Facebook and Google sent liaisons to their offices to help Trump’s campaign. Hong showed the BBC how Cambridge Analytica could identify if, say, it was targeting a working mother concerned about childcare: She probably wouldn’t be interested in “a war ridden destructive ad” popping up in her Facebook app, but might respond to something more “warm and fuzzy,” lacking Trump’s voice, Hong said. “It wasn’t uncommon to have about 35 to 45 thousand iterations of these types of ads everyday.”

Zuckerberg and Facebook were well aware of what was happening but they were making money so they didn't care or they were so craven that they might have thought "it was neat" just how powerful Facebook had become.

* The $5 billion penalty against Facebook is the largest ever imposed on any company for violating consumers’ privacy and almost 20 times greater than the largest privacy or data security penalty ever imposed worldwide. It is one of the largest penalties ever assessed by the U.S. government for any violation.
