Washington Post Reporter Doxxed For Writing Critical Article About Bernie Sanders

Washington Post Reporter Doxxed For Writing Critical Article About Bernie Sanders
by Alex Griswold | 1:29 pm, April 19th, 2016

Washington Post reporter Philip Bump faced a deluge of criticism on social media after he wrote an article that angered Bernie Sanders supporters, with one troll even posting his home address on Twitter.

Needless to say, they let Bump know how they felt. “By the end of the day, I’d received thousands of negative tweets, negative comments on Facebook, and any number of emails…” Bump wrote Tuesday. “Someone called my editor to complain. Someone else posted my home address on Twitter.”

“Neither I nor anyone else writing critically about Sanders deserves the sort of response that has been received,” he said. “No, Twitter isn’t life. But irrational fury that leads to abusive behavior isn’t the sort of thing that should be ignored.”

Hillary Clinton looks to be headed for a resounding victory, with 58% to 33%...Maryland...4/19/16

Maryland Likely To Continue Momentum for Trump, Clinton

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton looks to be headed for a resounding victory, with 58% to 33% for Bernie Sanders. Clinton's key is that she's winning African Americans- who are likely to be close to 40% of the Democratic primary electorate- 70/25. She has a more narrow lead with white voters at 50/41. Clinton has large leads with both men and women, and this is an unusual state in that she's even up 48/43 with voters under 45 to go along with her 66/27 advantage with seniors. One other thing to Clinton's advantage is that 86% of her voters say they're firmly committed to her, compared to 65% of Sanders' who say the same for him. Clinton leads in every party of the state except Western Maryland, although it's closer in the Baltimore suburbs.

Feds flag Bernie Sanders campaign contributions

Feds flag Bernie Sanders campaign contributions
Emilie Teresa Stigliani, Burlington (Vt.) Free Press 8:49 p.m. EDT April 18, 2016

Bernie Sanders received a warning from the Federal Election Commission, citing problems with his campaign's February finance report.

The letter states the report lists amounts of contributions, receipts, expenses and disbursements that "appear to be incorrect."

The letter also cites possible impermissible contributions that exceed the allowed limit per election cycle ($2,700 for individuals) along with donations that come from outside the United States and from unregistered political committees.

The FEC sent the letter Thursday to the campaign asking for more information regarding the report filed Feb. 20. The letter warned: "Failure to adequately respond by the response date noted above could result in an audit or enforcement action."

The Sanders campaign has until March 31 to answer the FEC's request.

Rachel Maddow Debunks Bernie Sanders’ Claim Of Clinton Campaign Finance Violations

Rachel Maddow Debunks Bernie Sanders’ Claim Of Clinton Campaign Finance Violations
By Jason Easley on Tue, Apr 19th, 2016 at 9:18 am

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Andrea Mitchell debunked the Sanders campaign's claim that Hillary Clinton and the DNC have violated campaign finance laws.

There is one point about the Sanders allegations that doesn’t add up. Bernie Sanders is the biggest champion for getting rid of Citizens United in the United States. If the Sanders campaign had any evidence that the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign violated campaign finance laws, why didn’t they file an FEC complaint?

An FEC complaint would create national headlines and shine a light on the dirty campaign finance system, but the Sanders campaign chose not to do that. The answer to the question of why they didn’t can be found in their carefully chosen language in the letter to the DNC. The Sanders campaign wrote about “concerns” and “apparent violations,” which indicated that they don’t have any hard evidence to back up their allegations.

Campaign finance experts are suggesting that the Sanders campaign is off base with these allegations, and the timing of the claims screams strategic move to try to swing the electorate on the eve of a critical must-win primary.

Pro-Clinton Rabbi Booted From Bernie Sanders Event for Being Too pro-Clinton

Pro-Clinton Rabbi Booted From Bernie Sanders Event for Being Too pro-Clinton
Andy Bachman was swapped out for a different Reform rabbi, less than an hour before a roundtable discussion at a Brooklyn church.

Debra Nussbaum Cohen Apr 17, 2016

NEW YORK – Rabbi Sara Luria wasn’t sure why she was called to participate in a panel discussion on faith and social justice with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders just 45 minutes before it was to start.

Turns out she was a last-minute substitute for Rabbi Andy Bachman, who was scheduled to participate in the Saturday-night Sanders campaign event at the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn Heights but was unceremoniously uninvited shortly before it was to begin.

The leading New York rabbi — formerly the spiritual leader of Brooklyn’s Congregation Beth Elohim and now director of Jewish content and community ritual at the 92nd Street Y — was dumped from the program for recent tweets favoring Sanders’ opponent Hillary Clinton.
