CNN) -- Two Chicago police officers were killed Monday after being struck by a metra train, authorities said.
Conrad Gary and Eduardo Marmolejo were responding to a shots fired call on the city's South Side when a passing train hit them, Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told reporters.
Superintendent Eddie Johnson addresses reporters Monday night.
The officers were searching an area near train tracks at 103rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue when they were struck, Johnson said. The train had been traveling at 60 mph to 70 mph, he said.

About Trump's Daily Tweets.. One short observation:
It seems as he does this day after day, that Mr. Trump still thinks that he is above the law. That nobody will ever get him. It seems his idea is that not only is he above the law, but his close-knit gang is also above the law. His family and a few more. While he may have quite a bit of "fear", he will not stop this tweeting, because he knows it all, he is the boss, and he thinks he is above the law. Also, he will not admit that he is wrong, even if it is obvious. We all can see this clearly. His arrogance and his belief that he is above the law, will take him and the gang down too. It is just a matter of time. (Yes, Mueller has taken down some, but it seems obvious to all, that Mueller will get the rest.)

Days of court filings, flipped witnesses, damaging disclosures and sentencing hearings over the last month have delivered blows that appear to expose Trump and key associates to deep legal and political jeopardy.
But the head-spinning volume of material being churned out by special counsel Robert Mueller and other jurisdictions often also blurs the bigger picture of a presidency beset by a span of scandal that is staggering in its breadth.
Simply put, Trump's campaign, transition, inaugural committee and presidency are now under active criminal investigation. His business -- the Trump Organization -- and his defunct charity -- The Trump Foundation are also under investigation (the charity investigation is a civil one). Powerful arrogance in Trump gang. The kind that investigators love to catch and put away...
No, I have no inside info on this. But my guess, and those who know investigators and detectives can verify or refute, that those are the prizes. The investigators capture, try and convict the arrogant types who think they can never be caught. Their thinking is that we are above the law, and you can't get me, and they add FU to the investigators..with this addition, ... "You cannot prove anything.."
So a lot of us are on the investigators side no matter who they are looking for. In addition the head of the gang is the top bully around. The higher up they are, the harder they fall. So when someone investigates for months on end, with the help of a great team, we often wonder...what keeps them going. I think the prize in putting the arrogant bullies in this gang away, is the answer as to why Mueller's team works so hard, and will get them all in end..And he doesn't have to say anything. Actions speak louder than any words he will or can say to the media.
What will Johnson and Johson do about the "Asbesetos Baby Powder Scandal"?
1.Lie outright and say the evidence is false, just like other people often do, or 2. Stand up and tell what is the truth. We knew and did nothing for whatever reason. What is it going to be?..
Yes, Michigan State had people who knew about the Nassar scandal, most are gone. I saw in the news that a few months ago, Michigan State has agreed to pay out $500,000,000 to settle law suits. Other law suits are moving forward. Nassar sexually molested dozens if not hundreds of students during his tenure as doctor at MSU.
..Johnson and Johnson has already started to follow course #1. But the higher ups got to make the decision. Just like MSU has made a decision and just like Trump has already decided about the "truth" and "lies." Johnson and Johnson has got to make a decision. That will be made by the CEO and the Board of Directors, and some other higher ups. It looks like some people in the company knew that asbestos was in baby powder and kept it quiet. The stock tanked 10 percent today.
That company's reputation has been outstanding. Their products haven't caused problems for years. People have been purchasing their Baking Soda for decades along with the baby powder and other household products. It will be interesting to see what they do. This is a new scandal that came out the last few days. But, according to some reports there has been evidence of the asbestos in baby powder for many years. Will Johnson and Johnson..."Tell the Truth" or "Tell a Lie?." The future is uncertain on this one. I will admit that I don't have a clue on this.

So, this might seem to be about a wall....but it is really about Donald Trump, trying to impose his will on people that he cannot impose his will on. Donald doesn't seem to listen very well. I didn't get the feeling he was listening to anything anyone else said. And that is what Donald did today. He proved he doesn't wait and doesn't listen to those he is having a conversation (theoretically) with. He doesn't even try to listen.
It is a conversation with himself for all to see. Interruption after interruption after interruption.
And that is very important. Showing all in the U.S.A., the conversation is only with him and himself and no one else. That is what we see.
Yes, there are about 25 to 30 percent in the U.S.A. who will not listen to anyone. They are Donald's followers. The week Nixon was thrown out of office, 27 percent believed they supported him.. So, with Donald, it will be 25 percent. That means that 75 percent in the end, will not support " Donald the Wall".
Why is it important now? Because even on live national TV, in front of millions, he will not listen to anyone in an important conversation. If 75 percent of the country see "Donald the Wall" as a selfish person who will not even listen on live TV in front of million, then that 75 percent will conclude that he should not be President of the United States of America.
Most of us are very reasonable. We listen even if we do not agree. To family, friends, fellow workers, bosses, teachers, fellow students, people we are in charge of..and so on. We know how important that is. Not Donald the Wall. He is above that, and he does not need to listen. When honest and reasonable people see this, they will know that even on live TV in front of millions of fellow citizens, Donald the Wall, will not listen. He has got to interrupt and always boss everyone...
"Donald the Wall" may not have lost the argument. But he did loose the respect of a number of .."fence sitters." Yes, there are many who still aren't sure about "Donald the Wall" As this makes the rounds, I do think that many "fence sitters" will get off the fence and say.."What an asshole, look how he interrupted the lady." I know that is hard to believe. But I think that Donald's disrespect on this 15 minute video could help this country to decide in the end..."Boy he is nuts, and he is totally disrespectful to others." "He should not be the President, and he needs to be removed.
Finally, I think that someone could see that truth with seeing only 10 minutes of this video. That is very good. Many in this country cannot watch more than 10 minutes without a break. Thanks for reading this...

Happened on Friday, Dec 7..........
With a crowd of onlookers gathered around, New York Police officers encircle a woman and her child on the ground.
One officer reaches down and begins to pull. The officer yanks harder, and harder, and the woman's cries become louder.
"You're hurting my son! You're hurting my son!" she yells.
