Right-wing critics say the former vice president’s wealth is hypocritical. By making his fortune a talking point, he could beef up his climate gospel.

Al Gore has long been a knight of the movement to combat climate change. But when he returned to the national spotlight last month with his latest documentary, “An Inconvenient Sequel,” he did so in gilded armor.
The former vice president ― who boasted a relatively modest net worth of $1.7 million, held mostly in family farm assets, when he ran for president in 2000 ― has become a media mogul and financial titan over the past decade, with a personal fortune valued at upward of $200 million. His big comeback comes months after a populist wave swept President Donald Trump to a surprise election victory, setting the stage for the most aggressive rollback of environmental and climate policies in history.

The right has always used his wealth as a reason to disbelieve. They would find something else surely, but his wealth has always been number one.

A month after the “Stained Banner” was adopted, Lee needed to surrender. He didn’t happen to have any white cloth, so one of his men looted a white linen towel from one of the houses near where Lee was staying. This towel (which used to be a lot whiter, 150 years ago!) was used as a flag of truce in order for Lee to surrender to Grant at Appomattox.

FBI: 'Destructive device' caused blast at Bloomington Islamic center
A blast caused by what the FBI called "a destructive device" rocked a Bloomington Islamic center at dawn Saturday, just as a small group of worshipers had gathered for the day's first round of prayers.
No one was hurt in the explosion, which heavily damaged an imam's office at the Dar Al Farooq Center and sent smoke wafting through the large building. Windows in the office were shattered, either by the blast or possibly by an object thrown through them.
The blast was reported at 5:05 a.m., a time when 15 to 20 people are usually gathered at the center for morning prayers, and awoke many residents of the neighborhood. Congregants and neighbors expressed relief that no one was hurt, but also reacted with shock and dismay
