That immigration ruling by SCOTUS was not really a "win" for Biden.

It really a "win" for the opposition who has been able to rally folks around the border scare. Even most Hispanics are against removing border restrictions. Now the Court actually gave the GOP a mallet to whack us over the head around election time.

The SCOTUS just opened the door for price fixing, gouging, and usury. You think inflation is bad now

The attack on our government's ability to regulate industrial pollution, green house gases, etc. it the door swinging wide open to knee-cap the Biden administration from regulating anything. Just think about the fact that more MAGAs live in the most environmentally endangered states and areas of the country. That's why the tax dollars of the Blue states have been bailing them out for decades. So they will continue to vote for Republicans who hate regulations and who don't really give a shit about the flood, fire, wind damage and pollution violence done to their brain-fed constituents. Remember the poorest states in the country rejected expanding Medicaid and Obamacare for their sick sick citizens. They would rather be fleeced by Trump than either pay taxes for services or take affordable healthcare from the government just to own the libs.

Oh, my. Just finished a Zoom call with family, east coast and west coast.

We are 99% active patriots, mixed races, mixed religions, oldest 95, youngest 18 months.

By unanimous vote, my family just cancelled the 4th of July. I had that thought earlier today but almost tongue-in-cheek. I was amazed at my family's collective anger. 67 members voted. Long discussion but mostly ranting about SCOTUS, MAGAs, J6. Everyone stayed on the call except for three who dropped in and left their proxy vote with spouses.

We are a close, loving family and now an angry family. No celebrating of the 4th. Two watch parties are planned, board games with family. I don't know how or if the entire family will pull it off. I know some are going to allow the kids to watch fireworks displays on TV but no one is joining in organized fireworks gatherings

So much for the hot dogs and hamburgers in my freezer intended for this year's celebration. No matter how bad things got with Trump, we always celebrated the being a citizen of a great democracy warts and all. We always felt things could get better and that we were part of something special. Sigh... I think SCOTUS was the straw with its decisions on Roe and the EPA. Lots of young environmentalists in the family.

Sobering 4th to all.

I hate there is no J6 Hearing between now and the 4th. All 4th celebrations should be called off.

Who feels like celebrating now when we are losing our democracy, our Republic, our real freedoms. We should all stay home and replay the Hearing we have had so far. It's meant to "give up." It's meant to send a message.

Hmm..just thinking about separation of Church and State.

Was Jesus Christ the first to put forth this notion?

He even wanted folks to pay their taxes. Do evangelicals read their own scripture?

Matthew 22:17-21
17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

18 But Jesus [a]perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money.”

So they brought Him a denarius.

20 And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”

21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.”

And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.

Can we set a new precedent and impeach a sitting SCOTUS Justice?

Two possibilities come to mind.

Ok, so when it comes to environmental catastrophes, who is in charge of disaster relief? The state?

Congress? Will SCOTUS force FEMA to spend resources in red states that don't really need it? What role will the President play. Is he the final word on disaster relief?

Everyone should remember that the GOP anti-regulation and pro-corporation because the bottom line

matters more than their constituents. They love gouging consumers by bank fees, oil prices, food prices, prescription costs. They want their political contributors who own these corporations to be able to dump waste where they want to, pollute waterways, build inferior housing, remove food safety regulations and the rest of the nastiness that hurts ordinary people and protects the privileged.

OK BLUE states. Let's get busy protecting our environment from climate change as much as possible.

See where people flock to for better standard of living, stronger building codes, better water safety, safer more effective solid waste disposal. Let's start building the infrastructure and industries within our BLUE states for this attack on climate change. Let's hope the MAGAs relocate out and take their anti-science, anti-abortion, anti-environment protection, anti-health, anti-history, anti-education ignorant asses elsewhere.

The press and other seem to be giving Cippolone more creditability than he deserves.

He was Too close to Trump to be trusted to tell the truth, even under oath.
