It's not about "growing a spine"

It's about grabbing brass knuckles. And using 'em.

I think it's swell that a few members of Congress are finally asking that the yammering pile of refuse called Issa be removed from its post running the House Oversight Committee. Just swell.

Won't do @#$%.

For so many years, we've coddled these sociopaths. Invited them to the White House for beers. Gave 'em a pass on torture. Called their lunatic proposals "serious". Kept two-thirds of the abhorrent Bush tax cuts. etc.

This is not what you do with sociopaths. They see niceness as a weakness to be preyed upon. The only thing they understand is pain, psychic or physical. That is their Alpha and their Omega. I take zero pleasure from inflicting pain, as does any healthy human being, but look around, dammit: there is so much human suffering in this country and in this world that's caused by their sociopathy.

So much suffering. All around. Because of them, and because we let them do it.

We need to make it stop.

Brass knuckles.

As Elizabeth Warren says, there must be "plenty of blood and teeth left on the floor".

That's it.

UN Appoints Sarah Palin to Mediate Ukraine Crisis

UN Appoints Sarah Palin to Mediate Ukraine Crisis

The United Nations has appointed Sarah Palin as a special envoy to Ukraine, hoping she can help mediate a solution to the growing geopolitical crisis in that country.

According to sources close to the situation, Palin and a team of international crisis experts will fly to Kiev tonight to meet with Ukrainian officials before moving on to Moscow to negotiate a final settlement with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin over the fate of the disputed Crimea region.

The surprising selection comes just days after Palin boasted on Facebook that she had accurately predicted Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in a 2008 speech.

In an exclusive interview, U.N. President Ban Ki-Moon said he chose Palin because of her impressive first-hand knowledge of the region and hopes she can facilitate a dialogue that avoids war.

Hitler? Why not Reagan?

I found it interesting that our Inevitable Next President chose to compare Putin's moves in Ukraine to Hitler's moves.

Anyone remember this?

“In Grenada, our military forces moved quickly and professionally to protect American lives and respond to an urgent request from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. We joined in an effort to restore order and democracy to that strife-torn island. Only days before our actions, Prime Minister Maurice Bishop had been brutally murdered, along with several members of his Cabinet and unarmed civilians. With a thousand Americans, including some 800 students, on that island, we weren’t about to wait for the Iran crisis to repeat itself, only this time, in our own neighborhood — the Caribbean.”

- Ronald Reagan, November 4, 1983.

Sound at all similar to the situation in Ukraine?

It's really sad that some people think RT is a legitimate news source.

It's even sadder that it probably *is* about as legitimate as any other news source these days. Even my beloved NY Times seems to have become somewhat of a mouthpiece for the White House.

Sigh.

Was Obama 100% against the three Bush "free" trade agreements

until the moment he signed them into law?

Obama Signs Three Long-Delayed Free Trade Deals

Or is he still against them after he signed them into law?

Or are "free" trade agreements excellent?

This new paradigm has me a little confused, thanks!

Finally! Proof positive that Obama wants more schoolchildren to be homeless!

Today's talking point is that even though our President:

- created a Catfood Commission that could only be designed to recommend Social Security cuts (which they did)
- called for Social Security cuts in a State of the Union Address
- agreed to cut Social Security during budget negotiations (or demanded cuts when the Republicans didn't even ask)
- added cuts to his budget that nobody recalls the Republicans asking for
- dropped the cuts from his new budget, but sent a press release saying that they're still on the table

The fact that there have not yet been cuts is proof that he won't agree to cuts. That outcome is proof of intention.

OK. I guess that makes sense.

Well we now have more homeless schoolchildren than ever. I guess this proves that the President wants more schoolchildren to be homeless.

And those children are homeless because the 1% are doing unbelievably well, better than ever before, while things get worse by the day for the 99%. I guess we have proof that the President wants the rich to get richer, and every one else to get @#$%ed.

Irrefutable.

And I guess he didn't want the three "free" trade agreements he championed, until the moment they passed in Congress. And he doesn't want the TPP yet, either.

Absurd-logic Manny

Fellow Putinists, check in here.

Comrades:

Apparently, around these parts, not agreeing that Putin=Hitler makes one a Putinist. If so, I'm guilty.

I think that Putin is a bad actor.

I think that Russia's military incursion into Ukraine is wrong.

I think that non-military steps should be taken against Russia - just like what (Soviet puppet?) Eisenhower did in 1956 when tens of thousands of Russian troops invaded a restive Hungary and killed thousands.

But I don't think this is Europe in 1938. Or 1933. So I, Manny, am a Putinist.

Any other fellow Putinists out there? Or am I alone in my disgrace?

Regards,

Comrade Manny

Hey Republicans: know what Eisenhower would have done in Ukraine?

Probably the same thing that he did in 1956 when tens of thousands of Soviet troops invaded Hungary to quash an uprising, killing thousands: Ike offered some fine words of encouragement, wished the Hungarians luck, and said it would be nuts to risk a war over it by taking military action.

I think we can safely say that General Eisenhower was one of the baddest bad asses of all time (although compared to our current president he was a screaming, flaming, mind-blowing Liberal). But Ike knew when the price of war was higher than its return.

So to the Republican crazies who want to go to war with Russia: grab a side arm and go yourself. Good luck. Just don't drag us sane and decent people into your lunatic blood fantasies.
