Head coach Urban Meyer has apologized to his family and team.
(CNN)Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan has criticized but ultimately stood by Urban Meyer after lewd videos of the NFL team's head coach were shared widely online.

Footage of Meyer sitting on a stool at a bar in Columbus, Ohio, as a woman danced close to his lap went viral at the weekend before another clip emerged of the married 57-year-old appearing to touch the women's bottom on the same night.
"I have addressed this matter with Urban. Specifics of our conversation will be held in confidence," Khan said in a statement.
"What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable. I appreciate Urban's remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect.

"his widow says he changed his stance on the vaccine after he got sick"

Within 2 Days, His Dad and His Son Were Dead of COVID

Within a span of about 36 hours, a Pennsylvania restaurant owner lost both his father and his son to COVID-19. Alan Collins Sr., who was almost 72 and was triply vaccinated, died at a Pittsburgh hospital Sept. 28, Alan Collins Jr. tells CNN. Collins' son, Alan David Brown Sr., died the following day. The 35-year-old father of four was not vaccinated, his dad says. The two will also be buried one day apart, WPXI reports.

While Brown also lived in the Pittsburgh area, grandson and grandfather did not live together, and Collins, who is vaccinated, says it was a coincidence both got infected around the same time. Brown was infected after his young son came home from school with the virus, WTAE reports. Collins' dad was a kidney transplant recipient, which Collins believes may have made him more vulnerable to COVID despite having gotten a booster dose of the vaccine after his initial two doses.

As for Brown, his widow says he changed his stance on the vaccine after he got sick: "People need to put their masks on," she says. "People need to get vaccinated." A GoFundMe campaign set up for her and the couple's four children has raised nearly $20,000 so far.

ESPN anchor Sage Steele is taken off air after controversial comments

ESPN anchor Sage Steele is taken off air over controversial comments after she questioned why Obama identifies as black and slammed vaccine mandates as 'sick' - as she also recovers from COVID-19

SportsCenter anchor Sage Steele has been taken off the air after she made allegedly controversial comments on former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler's podcast last month.

During the interview, Steele called ESPN's coronavirus vaccine mandate 'sick,' suggested that female journalists welcome harassment based on the way they dress, and commented on former President Barack Obama's 'blackness'.

It has since been announced that she is taking a break from regular on-air duties and apologized for the uproar caused by her comments.

---------------------

Steele also stated that she believes women 'need to be responsible as well' for inappropriate comments directed at them.

'So when you dress like that, I'm not saying you deserve the gross comments, but you know what you're doing when you're putting that outfit on, too,' Steele said.

'Like, women are smart, so don't play coy and put it all on the guys.'

Her interview sparked controversy in the sports world, as well as on social media.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco paid for a year-long membership with the Oath Keepers, an anti-government extremist group

Prior to his election in 2018, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco paid for a year-long membership in 2014 with an anti-government extremist group known as the Oath Keepers, Bianco told USA Today.

Bianco was one of 200 law enforcement officials whose names were included on a list of the Oath Keepers' members obtained by nonprofit journalist collective Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDS), the Desert Sun reported. Released to DDS by a hacker, a cache of documents from Oath Keepers servers - emails, chat logs, membership records, donor lists - revealed thousands of current and former members.

Across the country, a total of 21 law enforcement officers listed in the Oath Keepers' internal documents confirmed to USA Today that they are still serving, including Bianco, a corrections officer in Riverside, California.

------------------------

Insider reached out to Bianco for comment about his prior Oath Keepers membership. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department website, he oversees the county's five jail facilities, over 4,000 employees, and an operating budget of nearly $800 million dollars.

Once shunned, people convicted of felonies find more employers open to hiring them

-----------
But the company had a problem: finding enough workers to fill all the new orders.

That’s where U.S. Rubber’s long practice of hiring former felons paid off as people like Thomas Urioste came into the picture. In March, the 50-year-old Wrightwood man was released from federal prison after serving nearly 10 years. He was living in a halfway house and, like many former prisoners, finding it hard to get a new start.

So when he heard that U.S. Rubber was hiring, he hurried to apply. And instead of being rejected as those with criminal records often are, he got hired practically on the spot.

Six months later, with his salary bumped up to $17 an hour, Urioste can hardly believe how far he’s come. “They took a chance on me, gave me some responsibilities pretty fast. They let me run this [$200,000] machine,” he said last week. “It feels pretty good because they trusted me.”

---------------

In response, a growing number of companies are beginning to tap into a huge, largely ignored labor pool: the roughly 20 million Americans, mostly men and many unemployed, who have felony convictions.

---------

At Honest Jobs, Blakeman said, he hired seven people this year, most of them with criminal records, including a woman who applied for an executive assistant position that required handling finances. But her past included two fraud charges, he said, so she was instead offered a job working with employment applicants.

“I told her I cannot give you this job in particular because it’s too risky. That’s good business sense. But what happens is, the person with the fraud charge applies for a warehouse job and gets weeded out. That doesn’t make sense,” Blakeman said.

Girl Who Died of COVID Had Risky 'Classroom Job' - 10 yr old walked sick kids to the nurse

Girl Who Died of COVID Had Risky 'Classroom Job': Parents
Mom and dad of 10-year-old Teresa Sperry say she had to walk sick kids to nurse at Va. school

Officials at an elementary school in Virginia are investigating whether a 10-year-old student who died of COVID-19 was tasked with taking sick children to the nurse against school rules. The parents of Teresa Sperry, a fifth grader at Hillpoint Elementary School in Suffolk, say a teacher instructed her to walk sick students to the nurse and return for their belongings if it was determined that they would be sent home. "That was her classroom job," father Jeff Sperry tells the Virginian-Pilot.

Suffolk Public Schools rep Anthonette Ward says officials are investigating the alleged arrangement, as school protocol indicates a teacher or adult is to contact the main office so that an administrator or nurse can pick up the sick student from class. "We are still investigating to ensure that this process was followed with fidelity," Ward notes. Teresa developed a headache and stopped breathing five days later on Sept. 27, before test results confirmed she had COVID-19. It's unclear how she contracted the virus.

update on former NASCAR drive John Townley... he was attacking ex-wife with hatchet when shot dead

Former NASCAR driver John Townley was shot dead in Georgia on Saturday night—but no charges have been filed against the alleged shooter. Police say the 31-year-old turned up at a home in Athens and attacked ex-wife Laura Townley and another man with a hatchet, NBC reports. The other man, 32-year-old Zachary Anderson, "fired several shots from his gun which struck Mr. Townley and accidentally struck Ms. Townley," police said in an incident report. Laura Townley, 30, whose divorce from the former driver was finalized last week, was seriously injured but is expected to survive, reports the AP.

Police say the relationship between Laura Townley and Anderson is unclear. Investigators are trying to determine whether Townley arrived at the house with the hatchet or got it there, says police spokesman Lt. Shaun Barnett. Townley competed mainly in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series between 2012 and 2016, per NASCAR.com. His only series win came in the Truck Series in Las Vegas in 2015. Townley—who drove a car owned by father Tony Townley, co-founder of Zaxby's fast-food chain—retired before the start of the 2017 season.

no one attempts to stop fights anymore? two people fighting... just point the camera and cheer?

One security can be heard yelling “stop” repeatedly as he attempted to shoo the Eagles fan away. But the Philly fan was relentless, continuing to beat the Chief’s rooter while he was being huddled over by security.

Once satisfied, the Eagles fan casually walked away through the crowd. He lost his shirt during the scuffle, but the Chiefs fan may have lost consciousness if security took any longer to get to the scene.
